mac mp3 to cd
Hi everyone can I burn an mp3 onto my cd for playing in my stereo?
Re: mac mp3 to cd
Of course you can. If you don't already have a CD Writer, you'll need one of those. If you don't have CD burning software you'll need some of that - find here. And you'll need blank CD-Rs (not CD-RWs). Make sure you burn an audio CD and not a data CD; if MP3 files are burned to a data CD they will remain as MP3 format, not readable by your stereo.

New Here... Need some Help???
I had a korg trinity, but I needed money so i got rid of it. The question I have is... and since I'm new here. I wanted to know since I still have my disk from my korg. Is there a software I need, So that I can get my music on pc. I am going to get a new trinity in the future, but as of now. is there any way i can still listen to them on my pc??? any help would be greatly appreciated
Re: New Here... Need some Help???
Brilliant synth, the Trinity. Only had it for a few weeks, so never really got into the real depths. I doubt the disc will be readable in a PC, since the format the data is saved in is likely to be a Korg proprietry format.
You could try and find someone with a Trinity to see if the data can be transferred from the keyboard to the PC (the one I had had a SCSI port)
You can also try the Trinity chat room at http://jupiter.beseen.com/chat/rooms/g/1221/

Re: New Here... Need some Help???
Actually I really regret getting rid of it. I had it for a few month too. I dinked around with all the stuff on there and came to realize what I could do w/ it. I had a n364 too for a good year before I got ahold of a trinity. I was so amazed w/ that thing. I've been trying to save up to get it again, but sh*t happens I guess. Either a new one or a used one w/ the S bank. For now I suffer!!!

Can someone please tell me if DVD's are like .. msg
VHS tapes.
I am in the USA, but are moving to New Zealand, I know we have different format VHS tapes than NZ, what about DVD's - are they produced in different formats.
Does anyone know where I can get a translator (?) from - or is there such a thing.
Thank you
Lisi
Re: Can someone please tell me if DVD's are like .. msg
Unfortunately, DVDs are coded depending on where you are in the world. Just for example, the US and Canada are region 1, Europe, the Near East, South Africa and Japan are region 2 and so on. A DVD player bought in the US is desigbed to play region 1 discs. A player bought in the UK will play only region 2 discs.
However, there are multi-region players around which play all regions, and many PC DVD-ROM drives can be modified to play all regions.
If you have any more questions, mail me and I'll try and answer them.

sound card problem
I have installed Windows XP and dont have any driver for XP to the sound card Diamond DT 0398.
Re: sound card problem
Another good reason not to upgrade to Windows XP.
I'm afraid there's not a lot you can do until someone
comes up with a suitable driver.

Professional Audio Software
Hi there, people in cyberspace. I need help and it's a very difficult subject... What I've been looking for (since I can remember) is a software that separates all the audio channels in a cd-audio track. What I mean is that you can get the voice channel, the guitar channel, and so on. I know it exists. I've seen it -- but it was a long-long time ago and I don't remember its name. So, please, if you know that software, PLEASE help me!!! Thanks in advance.

Hey Ariel: I think you must have been dreaming when you saw that. All the sounds on a CD are mixed together into stereo tracks. The only way to get seperate tracks would be if you had the artist tracks from the recording studio. You CAN get the seperate instrumental tracks of a particular piece of music as a MIDI file and play them in a sequencer such as Cubase,Logic, or Cakewalk.
Re: Professional Audio Software
Nothing like that exists on this site or any other as far as I know. Sorry.

Re: Professional Audio Software
i've heard before that cubase does understand some songs and will do this, i have never seen this though and i heard it 3rd hand so dont get ur hopes up too much.......it supposedly worked with a nine inch nails track
i dont know how it would do this because as someone said before the mastering process gathers all channels into only 2 outputs

How to convert WAV to MIDI and vice versa
I Like informatión ,what´s the software WAV to MIDI and
MIDI to WAV, and Which one do you prefer?!
sorry for my English, I speak Español.byby
Re: How to convert WAV to MIDI and vice versa
There is a program called WIDI capable to polyphonic WAV to MIDI conversion. WIDI is shareware, you can download and evaluate it for free from
http://www.widisoft.com/download
You can download samples produced by that programs from:
http://www.widisoft.com/examples
WIDI can use many different formats as input, including wav, mpg, mp3 and CD-Tracks.
Many recognition settings can be adjusted to improve recognition quality.
WIDI contains build-in Wave window to select a piece of sound to recognize and a build-in MIDI player to listen for the result.
Help documentation and sample files are provided with WIDI.
WIDI 2.7 works under Windows 95/98/2000/NT.
You are welcome with your questions and suggestions to our forum

coverting mono recording to digital
Is it possible to take my analoge/mono recordings
and convert them to digital so that i can then remove hiss and other extraneous noise,so that i can then raise and lower the volume of the voice ,
guitar and othe intruments.
Re: coverting mono recording to digital
Yes it's able to be done. You'll need an audio editor and then there are a number of audio restoration tools you can use.

does Logic for Windows work with USB MIDI?
I am considering buying Logic and a PC and want to know if this is a bad idea. All the logic users I've seen use Macs.I also want to use USB ports for MIDI and maybe even Audio.Does anyone know how well this works (sync etc).I saw the new Tascam unit that supposedly is a USB workstation controller, but may not work with Logic.Any Ideas, before I sell all my old gear?

The Best CD Burning Software?
I'm looking for a good CD burning software that is easy to use, burns any MP3 file you download and allows you to edit the music.
I have two CD burning software loaded on my computer--CEQuadrat Just Burn! and SonicBurn. JustBurn is cool because you have the option to either fade songs into one another or add a pause in between, edit out portions of the music (which is great if it's one of the songs that have a slow or dialogue intro that you want to cut out) adjust the volume, squelch out popping sounds, etc. It also allows you to mix both MP3 files and CDs (although you can only pull from one CD) when burning onto a blank CD. The problem is, it's real picky about the MP3 files that it'll burn. You may download six songs and it will only allow you to burn one or two. You then have to keep downloading other versions before it finally finds one it "likes" and will allow you to burn. This is a real waste of time.
The other software--SonicBurn, is easy to use, has a good equalizer for playing the MP3s and--best of all--will burn any MP3 file you download. The problem is that it allows for no editing of your music. You also have to download songs from a CD onto your hard drive first before writing it to a disk. It won't let you directly record from one disk to another.
So what I want is software that will allow me to burn any file that I download and also allow me to do some editing. Any suggestions out there? Please send me an e-mail at nanceelorn@aol.com. Thanks!
Re: The Best CD Burning Software?
Nero is pretty good. As for editing, you may need an MP3 editor. I don't know if you can get both in one download.

One Man Band
Have guitar, need backup. I have seen several one man outfits, the sound is good and obviously, they are doing thier own mixing. What kind of electronic do these guy,s use to get the precussion and backup guitar(s) sounds while they play the lead ???
Re: One Man Band
I imagine they use a MIDI set up of some kind. You can use a laptop to play and sequence the MIDI files and go from there. There is specific hardware for this kind of thing but I'm not aware of it. You'll need a high quality soundcard too!

Message for Nigel! - pls help!
HI Nigel
You appear to be the guru of this page and i was wondering if you could help me
Whats better acidxpress or fruityloops 3.3 ?
As per my earlier message - I'm quite new to this- I'm looking for a tool which I can create tunes and beats on (as cheaply as possible)
I downloaded acidxpress yesterday which took ages but I was gutted when I found i couldn't just start creating tunes and that i needed to buy these loops ??
Do you know of any free software thats easy to master to create beats and melodies/sample over the top of them.
I really want to get started making tunes but keep stumbling
any advice would be greatly appreciated
thanks

ACID VS FRUITYLOOPS
Until I blew up my speakers, I used both quite a bit. I used FruityLoops for creating beats and loops. It can be used to generate whole songs, but I'm still learning what the program can do. It's really worth the value for money. You can download the demo version and it comes with heaps of samples to use.
ACID is more used for sequencing the samples and loops. It's great for remixes and creating songs, but you'll need samples and loops in order to get started. You can buy loop libraries via the Sonic Foundry site. They cost a bit but really are worth the price.
My tip: download both demos. FruityLoops will give you a more immediate benefit, but ACID will allow you to do some very funky stuff.
