Help,I'm having trouble running Midi(vst 3,553) on Windows 98.The Recording stumbles on play back,I've done everything the manual says to do (checked inputs ,outputs,sync and system),but I'm getting no where!

ANTARES VOCAL FX

I recently bought the Antares Autotune because the guy at my music shop said that this is how I can get that Eiffel 65 vocal fx (which he said is similar to Cher's "Believe" vocal fx).

OK, so now that I bought it I can not find the settings that will do this.

Could someone please tell me what settings are required to achieve this.

Hi AH,
from memory the Retune is on 0 & the Tracking is on 71 or the other way round as a start.
I'm not at my protools rig at the moment to check sorry.

Could anybody tell me how to reference and use a soft synth within cubase VST v5. The copy of Cubase i am using is a demo that came with the magazine, Digital Music Maker.

JUST STICK IT IN THE 'PLUG INS' FOLDER & IT SHOULD APPEAR WHEN YOU CLICK ON 'PANELS' 'VST INSTRUMENTS'.

Dont........not good, finale is a good program however, i would transfer the file to cakewalk or cubase logic audio, any sound forge, because if you want an industry standard recording(reccommended) youll need a Stronger file, finale is a weak audio composer, resend files to another like i said and remix then master it then burn it
remember 1 thing......its not how good the song is , its the frequency levels, they will promote a better sounding work of art

For converting mp3 to cd audio (and burn it on a cd) you can use "Easy CD Creator".

Sibelius software - making short scores

Add a piano stave to your score select the music you wish to include in the reduction and alt-click on the piano stave to copy it there. Sibelius will deal with transpositions for you, but you will need to edit (probably extensively) for playability.

Do a search on yahoo or something for freeware programs that convert other files into .wav format.

ex. convert mp3 to .wav

There's a lot of stuff out there.

I would like to copy selected music tracks from my old LP collection to CD and eliminate the scratching noises. Also, I would like to copy music and eliminate certain elements eg: take out the vocal(s)on a track to copy just the instrumental part. Is there any software out there that would do the job?

Have you received an answer to your question yet. I want to do the same thing. I need a good filter software. I am playing with musicmatch JIKEBOX a little. I ahve a lot of old albums that I want to put on CD and many have pops an cracks from years of play.

Quicktime document to .wav HELP!!!

I have .wav files converted from MP3. When I converted them they were saved as quicktime documents. Quicktime being the only .wav player I have. I am using toast to burn a cd, but my files are quicktime documents not .wav files.

How can I convert my quicktime documents to .wav files, so I can burn an audio cd?

sound mixer software

I am interested in purchasing sound mixer software. I would like to be
able to choose my own songs off of my cds, copy them to the computer,
and mix them up. Such as taking 34 seconds of 1 song and combining it
with 57 seconds of another song with smooth transitions. Does anyone know of any software that does this?

I have done some work with two turntables and a mixer for a while now and would like to have some tips about how to make d'nb tracks with my computer, cause that would be next logical step for me. So, if any of you have done this kind of stuff and have pointers for me I would be so happy...! :-) Goog tips would be something like: where to start, what software to use and so on...

Midi Problems

Hi

I have a PC running Cubase VST v3.5. I have a Korg i4 connected via serial port using Portman. I previously had no problem recording and playing back midi but lately my songs seem to skip beats after 30 or 40 seconds playing. The longer the track plays the worse the skipping and pausing gets. Also some of my older songs have no tracks in them when I open them.

I am creating a web page for my friend. I have a CD with his music on. I want to make it so that when people pull up his web page it plays a track (so there are no copyright issues here).

How do I:
a) get track from CD onto hard drive (all I can see are 1k .cda files)
b) does the file need anything further or will it be in the rigth format for the web page to just play it?

Hi Angela (you live in Holland?),
to get a track of a cd on harddisk you can use the program "MusicMatch Jukebox", it will be in the mp3-format and that is the right format to put on your website; you can download this program for free at http://software.mp3.com/software.

using cakewalk and sound forge

Just did that earlier today. Use Tools ... Export Audio in Cakewalk to create a WAV file and open that in SF
