if the recordings are from CDs then download AudioCatalyst from www.xing.com (you can find the full version by serching for warez and AudioCatalyst in yahoo, this can compress separate wav files as well).

Input is the should say something about synthesis referring to your soundcard.

Ouput should be played either through your computer speakers (that word synthesis again) or through an instrument that you have connected to your midi port on the computer. If its the instrument you need to identify it in cakewalk and then you can choose it as the output.

klick Disk
klick Search and find the directory with the file
"Oemsetup.inf" (it should be located in the folder of the LoopBack software),
klick OK until you see
Hubi's Midi LoopBack v2.50 (or so),
klick OK,
klick ?? (Fertig stellen in german,2nd(middle) button),
klick yes to reboot and then you can use the LoopBack device.

I have been into video for a little while and have found that MGI's VideoWave is a very good little editor for around $89. It will take your home videos and allow you to edit them (take out the annoying little portions that make you look like you don't know what the hell you're doing.) While you are into the editing program you can also find a special moment, like a facial expression, that you can capture into a "still" (a .bmp file) and save to your My Pictures folder...or where ever. If I can help you further, let me know. By the way you will need a digital camera to input clips into Videowave, or, if you have tapes that you made on your Panasonic VHS-C or an 8-mm tape recorder, you will have to feed them into your digital video tape recorder, then into your computer (to Vedeowave). You will also have to have a 1394 Firewire Card (or equivalent to feed the video from camcorder source to computer file. If you're not prepared to spend some money, you must give up the idea.

Next, if all you want to do is grab a few photos out of your video tape, there is Snappy and ULead's Lifeview--both of which I have used and will do a good job for you. Either one will cost between $75 and $100 at your local Circuit City or Office Depot--or, if you want, go on-line and buy direct from U-Lead. Lifeview needs a USB connection but little else.

is anything available?there's a tonne of stuff out there that allows you to do almost anything you want with audio(with the exception of sexually harrassing it)!look for audio editors on this very site!free programs include quartz audio master freeware,while for a little over 30 quid,you can get your hands on the classic cool edit 2000!it even burns cds for you!if you go for the freeware,you'll need cd burning software!the cheapest right now is valusoft's burn 'n go!so burn 'n go mate!
