One other suggestion, if another format is viable, then try WMA (Windows media audio, ughh!)
or VQF they tend to lean towards smaller filesizes

Total concurance, here's the deal. As a guitarist, both acoustic and electric, this is a fabulous tool for backing tracks. After you're happy with your playlist, go to file, export. It will give you a choice of making an Mp3 or Midi file. Choose Mp3 and take it from there.

You should download the Instrument Definition Map, from the net, for your JV-1010. a very good place for this is www.lilchips.com/cakewalk/ins/jv-1010.asp This contains all the instruments that is in the JV. Then all you got to do, (in Cake 9) is go to the Options -> Instruments -> Define -> import, and select the JV-1010 ins file (JV-1010.ins) to import. then you can adjust from the trackproperties to use the JV sounds.

I imported the JV-1010 ins file, but how do I adjust from track properties to use the JV sounds?
I'm using a MIDi patchbay which routes my Roland A-33 controller to the the JV-1010 and the JV-1010 to Cakewalk, then Cakewalk back to the JV with Echo on.
