i use this place to download most of my mp3's. give it a couple of shots though, somethimes it doesnt find your song straight away.

No sound when trying to record

I have an xp10 keyboard, having a problem getting the sound
to record on to my computer. I have a turtle beach
sound card with a sequencer, I record and then playback
but never have any sound. I also have Wavlab by Cubasis
which you can record onto, but the same thing happens.
What am I doing wrong? HELP!

New to the game - Looking for bass software (rock)

I've only recently discovered the advantages of digital/software recording - it kicks ass! I'm trying to create a straight ahead rock sound. I tried a few drum programs before I found 'Drums!',it gives me the natural sound that I wanted. Now I am looking for a program that has realistic bass sounds that can render wav files. Most programs I've tried are aimed at the dance scene. Anyone know of a program that has what I am looking for???

AnalogX's vocal remover is totally crap for both winamp and DirectX. are there any other good ones??? thanx

You can use <a href="http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/programs/CDH_Media_Wizard/">CDH Media Wizard</a> to convert .WMA files
to .WAV files.

80 minute cd recording

I have just bought some 80 minute blank cdrs, i use adaptec easy cd creator v3.5 and it states in the help file and when using the wizard that cdrs only come in 74min format. how can i make it recognise and record up to 80mins on the cdrs. or can anybody recommend other programs that will allow this. thanks.

YA -USE NERO IT WILL WORK IT THE BEST FOR COPONG CDS

i have a tascam portastudio. am buying alesis studio one monitors and RA-100 alesisi amp, but now...do i buy a tascam 302 doble cassette deck, or is that really outdated? i dont know a thing about DAT...i am using it for music recording. lots of acoustic mixed with roland 808 samples. any thoughts? i dont want to buy outdated stuff.

DAT is quite expensive as it was never really adopted by the Consumer market. Midi Disk is cheap and sounds excellent although some people complain about it's compression routines, most people quite frankly, wouldn't notice. DAT is now a professionally adopted market (as Beta Video cassettes are compared to the consumer adopted VHS. Beta was always considered better but Sony didn't market it properly).

You have a tape based MultiTrack recorder which would be out-classed by the DAT machine. Unless you need the DAT format, I would go for the Minidisk in your situation. They are barely more expensive than a double audio cassette deck and much more usable. More to the point, they sound better. You also have the option to buy one of the 'Portable MidiDisk player/recorders' which are extremely attractively priced and sound great. Make sure that it has a 'Digital Connection' as you may be needing that in the future...

There are too many ways and things to be considered when you start off setting up a project studio to be answered by one person in one message. It depends on the type of music you wish to make, whether it involves recording Analogue instruments, whether your a musician or just a two fingered keyboard player. What computer you already have etc... etc...

Midi instrumentation can be made with a computer and synthesiser with a Midi connection. If you don't understand Midi then you should learn the basics first. Do you have any music composing software?? do you already have any instruments?? can you play any?? how much money do you have to spend on the equipment to start off with??

I've tried this and it's just like I expected it to be. It doesn't remove the vocals entirely and it affects the quality of the music in a bad way.

I,ve spent like 3 hours looking for some, and those were the only two I found myself.The other one was YoGen Vocal remover, works very nicelly, but it's shareware and youcan only get the first 2 min of the song, and you cna't even save it.

I don't understand how to use the activeX on my computer. I have it downloaded, but i can't open it, nor open it in winamp. How the heck am I suppsed to do it?
I'd appreciate if somone could help me out, cos I really need this song without vocals!

You need a vocal remover.
try analogX it's a freeware vocal remover, and it's directX so you have to have a host program for it.

try slowing the tempo down and extending the time between the bass if you could come up with a nice flow using your fingers on a regular table try to make a replica right on your computer if you know how to B-Box
you can make a beat longest you have rythim and imagenation you could make anything
