I think rio player manager transcode it into mp3 format when it's being upload to the player.... at least for my rio500

dbpoweramp is a good utility for conversions but you can't convert what is protected. WMA's are protected files that's why so many people ask this question of how to convert WMA to MP3. I found this website that has a program that will remove the protection from a WMA file so you can use dbpoweramp to convert. the site is *** http://wind.prohosting.com/danny187 *** or click the link below also there is a very good FAQ page there

This is possible using a GREAT utility called dBpowerAMP, you can convert lots of formats. My favourite being WMA -> MP3

If your soundcard supports DUPLEX (which means you can play and record at the same time), you could play the .WMA, record it with CoolEdit or something to .WAV and convert the .WAV to MP3.

When I play my guitar along with my Casio, I hate having to change the Casio chords accompaniment with my hand- it breaks the flow. I need some type of foot pedal I can change those chords with. If that is not possible, is there any music/rhythm machines out there on the market I can use to play along with my guitar? P.S. The Casio has a Midi out.

hey there. Installed encore 4.1.2 a while ago. Then ran Norton Utility and now encore wont boot because "improperly installed". Problem: I have original cd and manual but the registration number is nowhere to be found. Found tiny number along rim of cd but install says its invalid. Any ideas?

good soundfonts?

I´m searching for good soundfonts. On the Hammer page
and other locations you get many sf´s some of them
are really cute, but a good piano or electric piano is
hard to find. I mean a piano, that hasn´t a e sound
bright and a f maybe dull. Bye!

I'm fairly new to music on PC's Can anyone suggest any soft synths etc that are good for Brian Eno / Aphex Twin type synth sounds. You know, those long swirly reverby type sounds. If so, where can I get hold of them?

Why don't you try Bitheadz' Retro AS-1 or Native intsruments
Generator. Both should be available as a demo
on the respective websites.

Midi track from Cubase VST via Yamaha XG to Wave

Hi,

Anyone know the answer to this one: I have created 3 midi tracks in Cubase VSt going out via a Yamaha Xg synth but when i come to save the mix, it wont save any midi tracks, but how do i get to save the midi tracks as say WAV data either seperately or via the Cubase Export Audio facility if possible?

Any ideas - please reply here - many thanks

I tried to Install Cubasis on my laptop, but it wouldn't install, it kept getting an error that said that it wasn't win32 compatible, is there a patch or something I can get to fix this?

I am looking for a mixing program to make megamixes of some of the mp3's I have...
I know of a few already virtual turn tables and mixman studio..
but befor I go and buy one of these I was wondering if
any one knows of any good free mixing programs..

I know there has to be some out there... but I haven't had any luck finding one...

One more question which is better virtual turntables or mixman studio?

HELP!! Mini disk to cd burner

There's so much information about recording software that I'm overwhelmed. My problem is this: I have a mini disk recording of a concert that I would like to transfer to my cd burner. My Sony MZr55 has only an analog output. The soundcard that I'm using is the one that came with my Compaq Presario 5140 and I'm not sure if I can plug into this or if I need to upgrade. Also the recording is 1 continuous track and I would like to split this up into separate tracks. I'm looking for someone that has a 'working' system and could coach me through this! I'm currently using both Adaptec and Nero for my burns. Please email.

dear ken, hi i'm jonno. i work for a production company where we record stuff we do onto mini disk all the time. here is the way we put our tracks onto computer then onto cd.
using a pc program called 'sound forge' we plug our md into our computer then record the sound coming out of the md onto our computers. once we have the sound on our computer we use sound forge to cut, edit and enhance the audio. once we have finished editing, we save it as a mp3 file and then burn it onto cd.

Isolating Vocals from a Song

Normalizing

e.g. Average output to ?% but only if average output
is Lower than ?% or Higher than ?%.

e.g. Maximum Compress with ?%. Don't compress songs
with Compact Ratio Over ?.

i presume you are using audiograbber or audiocatalyst. whatever the case, just normalise to 98% unconditionally and you can't go far wrong.

ReWire Problem

I'm having some trouble connecting properly with my sound card - Pulsar (driver pulsar3)- I've heard it could be that it's very difficult making cubase (VST24) and pulsar communicate unless you do a couple of corrections in their setups... Is there anyone out there who will and can help me with this one?
