CUBASE 5.0 audio problem

Can anyone help with this simple audio problem I am getting?? When I lay down vocals it records it fine - I can even rewind it and listen back to what I have recorded - but when I go to add effects such as reverb I don't hear anything. The file is still visible on the track editor but no sound is playing. What might be the problem??

Need info on program

Im looking for something that will allow me to isolate the vocals on some mp3s sort of like a reverse kareoke program. Can you do this with soundforge? I have that but cant figure out how to do it. Is there a simpler way? thanks,

I have read the post about it being impossible to take the voice out of a song! But i was wondering... would it be possible to (if you already have an "instremental" voiceless copy) to somehow subtract the instremental from the original leaving only the voice???

You could probably do it rather well with some patience and a
good digital editing station. However, the two recordings would
have to be very very very very very similar. You couldn't use a
cassette here and a CD there. You'd probably have to make allowances
for speed and compression variances. Also, you can't have one version
that's been data/psychoacoustically compressed either. But, if you do
have 2 such recordings say on CD, and you import them both,....

well you could probably do some strategic damage. You'd need plenty of
time to do it though. Most songs change drastically from mix to mix in
very subtle ways. all it takes is a few samples out of billions to change
the character of a recording. Humans can hear timing changes by fractions of a millisecond, and
all the frequency changes from 15-24000 Hz are at stake. Naturally, amplitude
changes are an issue, but there are also subtle things such as noise and flange and dither
and phasing and harmonic enhancers and rot like that.

Well, enough talk about it. Why don't you try it!
Just make sure that your editor can do polarity inversions and that it is
precise and accurate with 32bit 96Khz audio with decent interpolation waveform rendering and anti-aliasing filters.

I will help you out: Use DDCLip Pro and WaveLab.
If you must have other tricks, use CoolEdit.

Encore doesn't seem to want to download and open correctly on my new computer, which uses an operating system of Windows XP. Even when I try to open it in Win95 or 98 format. Is there a patch for this? Please help! Thanks!

I purchased a Hip Hop Ejay 2 months ago and installed it into my home computer. Now I have a new Computer and Ive lost the product number on the inside of the booklet. How can i get that number or can i get a new one?

I am 14 years old and when I was younger I took singing classes now I go to a school that also has singing classes but people have told me that my voice is too good to be covered up in a big group where no one can hear me.I would like to be heard and become a singer specifically pop music but I don'y Know how to do that can you help me????? i am a 14 year old and i have always wanted to know what it was like to become a popstar. evertime whenever mu friends hear me sing they tell me that i have a good voice and they think that evertime we do a concert at my school that i should do a solo.

Firstly, you need to get yourself noticed, eg, singing at the local club on karaoke, entering singing competitions, talent shows, perform on stage at school shows, etc. Someone in the audience may be able to give you some help when it comes to this problem. Secondly, attend auditions. There are plenty of auditions for teenage stars in newspapers. magazines and television. This way, you have more chance of getting a record deal and working towards your goal. And finally, dont forget practice makes perfect. Keep practice whenever you can, it will improve your voice more. Try making up your own songs and get someone at school or a teacher, maybe, to edit the music and chords for you. I used to have lessons like you too. I'm 13 now and im soon to be recording my own album. Good luck!

i am 12 yrs old and all my friends think i am an amazing singer. i am going to audition for stars in their eyes in august 2005. i have a friend who writes very good songs for me and i of course sing them. i won the eisteddfod in school and im in an opera called turandot. i really want to become a popstar!
