I recorded a bunch of songs off old cassettes onto my hard drive. I de-hissed them and equalized them but the problem is the sound volume varies from one song to another. Is there a way to even out the sound volume from one cut to the next? Or is there particular measurement I s/b using to do this? Thanks.

As Jon said.. You can use Audio editors to level audio files to a general even level.

The facility you are looking for is called 'Normalising'. All this does is increase the overall level of a track to just below digital clipping. Apply this effect to all tracks and that is the closest you will get... Well, you can get closer depending on the music itself. Mid frequencies make a sounds stick out so some tracks can appear louder than others if depending on the eq balance of the track.

Normalising will do it though...

well u could start by loading the quiet ones into an audio editor (good free ones around) and boosting the vol there. u should see a wave graph + easily set vol to max. this should have been done at rec stage tho. u should use a rec with visual graph + ensure max rec with no clipping.

I've hooked up my korg Triton to Logic via midi but can't get the preset instruments on the Triton to sound (it only plays back the preset midi instruments on logic). Can anyone help??? Please reply back here as I will check every day.

I am an existing user of both and just thought i would let the world know(if it deosn,t already)that realty (any version)deosn,t seem to work properly on p4 first gen and having had nothing but s**t from the intel chip. cubase is exactly the same the is not crap this is an existing user who has become so frustrated with the intel chip i have actually down graded to p3 i hope that work or ill smash the b***tard thing up please don,t buy P4
