I'm pretty sure it saved the files to RMX format because the copyright owners don't want to convert the files to WAV. To tell you how to circumvent it would probably break the DMCA or some such law. Honest!

yes you cannot mix a wav+midi file in one so u are exporting a wav file only here. The thing to do is probablly render the midi tracks then load them into a sampler in fruity before exporting the finished track. You could play just he midi tracks + record the sound as it happen with an audio editor. You could also forget about using midi + use samples/vsti's in it's place. But as to getting soundcard sounds to a wav file u must do this by recording live as a seperate process to final rendering. hope that makes sense.

You can get really technical about this or you can keep it simple. I prefer to keep it simple. If you're just starting out, get a system with at least 128MB of RAM and a 7200RPM hard drive. You'll want a fast processor too.

I use a Celeron 400 with 64 MB of RAM and I really don't have any problems. I use ACID, FruityLoops and a bit of MIDI. No hassles. I make OK music. Nothing special.

Be careful not to become a gear or software junkie. You don't need all the hot shot gear to make great music. Keep it simple. Then, if you decide you want to learn more, you can spend. I'm pointing this out because I know a couple of people who spent over $3000 on a system to make music. But six months later, they had lost interest and used their system for little more than a bit of email and online gaming.

just speakers? u can't power them from your soundcard there is only an unpowered signal there. You need an amp which will connect both sides of this equation no problem.

If you can import the midi file into a Midi sequencer, then you could create a 'Tempo Map' which would allow you to specify the tempo at an given point of the song. You can often even draw in the speed change on a graph, and sometimes tap a key to the speed that you want the tempo to be at any given point in the song. It's not an easy process to pick up but it will do what you want.
