Reality and midi control?
I need advice on how to record live tweaks from
Reality v1.56 in Cakewalk 9 as midi information. (I
hope that made sense). Is there a studioware panel
that will do the job just like the one for Retro-AS?
CUBASE for the ATARI ST
Hey does anyone still have this program around?? (Cubase for Atari ST)
or is it just a figment of my imagination.
I just got an old atari... I have seen it work with cubase before. If possible can someone tell me where to find this software. I would muchly apreciate it.

Need help with syncronization
I'm having trouble getting my keyboard to sync up with the sound card. There is at least a 1-2 second delay from when i hit the note to when it plays making it impossible to play anything. i am using a imb aptiva 350 mhz and a casio cps300 keyboard. the keyboard itself has no sequencing ability. i have tried using various shareware midi programs and have even bought cakewalk proaudio 8. i am to the point of giving up. can anyone help? thank you.
DON'T give up!!
Don't give up Johnny we all have these problems from time to time! How much RAM do u have? 96MB is definately a min for PC based music. Having this ammount will reduces 'latency' - time delay. However it won't knock off 2 seconds! That's a lot so maybe you are using an 'emulated' sound port? This would be something like Yamaha's SYXG-50 or a Roland equivalent. Basically this is a 'software soundcard' I think so it takes time to process a signal into a sound then send it to your hardware soundcard. You should use your hardware souncard directly to reduce latency so try Start>Settings>Control Pannel>Multi Media> and see which 'device' is selected. Look for your souncard device.
Also in Cakewalk there will be a 'buffer' setting. This can be set to about 2 sec probably so could be the problem. So reduce it to as low as it will go before audio glitches are heard. Again an emulated device will need longer buffers than using the souncard direct.

Question bout cakewalk pro audio 8 dealing with Midi Exporting.
i was just wondering how i can export audio to wav when i use midi. i just bought a midi sound modulator and a midi keyboard to my keyboard. but everytime i try to export it says no audio has been selected.
is there a way to get around it or what can i do please?
thanks alot
easy
Midi is NOT audio! Midi tracks are just information! They become audio when a soudcard/module reads them only - a midi file contains no audio sources.
So what u have to do is select an audio track in your sequencer to record or 'bounce down' the midi tracks to. Basically when u do this the midi tracks create the audio in your soundcard which is then recorded onto an audio track in sequencer. Then export this track to .wav. You may have to mess about with some sound settings to make this happen.
steve
how?????
how do i bounce them? i have no clue. and when you say sequencer are you talkin bout cakewalk?
thanks
EASY!!!
you are are novice Torown??? Look it is VERY simple. Yes by 'sequencer' I mean your cakewalk program - it is a music sequencer!!
OK I will go slowly!!!
open your track in cakewalk OK? Then what u want to do is record ALL your midi tracks onto ONE audio track OK? So if u have a midi song with 8 tracks u record these on to 'audio track 1' OK. Then this audio track is exported to .wav OK?
So to record your midi tracks to 'audio track 1' you just select 'audio track 1' for recording and press 'play' - EASY! It's just like adding a vocal audio track alongside your midi instruments only instead of the signal from the microphone going onto the audio track it's the signal from your soundcard which has been created when it reads the midi tracks OK?
By the way have you read the manual?!!
