how shall i tape my music on my cd with a the ability
to play that on any cd player ......
all the music i have is in wav form .
am using wavelab cubase and hp cd writer and creatrive sound card.

Just picked this one up - I had the same trouble myself. I have WL 3.0 (no HP9100 driver), and don't want to download 3.03 (which has HP9100 drivers).

Solution? From memory, edit CDR.TXT in /Wavelab/system dir: look for HP CD entries - and modify the first column of the last one (probably HP8100) to read HP9100. you can also modify the other columns while you're at it, though I think these are only descriptors Wavelab uses to let you know what CDR you have connected.

The important one is the driver file (second to last column?), if the existing one doesn't work, take your pick from the others you can see in the list.

Hope this is helpful to others (but probably not to the original poster!)

I have an MPC 60 and Cubase 3.7 I have no idea how to sync the two together through midi. Please put me on to some knowlege, maybe even a book I can buy or something, I havn't a clue what to do.

Some things are better discussed in other places. Logic Manuals come with the program when you buy it. If you've lost it then make it clear. If this is the case I seggest you contact E-magic as I believe they will sell you one if you are a registered user.

Cakewalk VIRGIN

This is a totally basic question--

During playback, is it possible to get Cakewalk to make my synthesizer play? I've tried playing with different menus and options, and I have checked that my MIDI cables are hooked up properly, but it won't work. All I can get is crappy computer-generated sounds.

I am using an Alesis QS6 and my soundcard is a Sound Blaster Live! Platinum.

Of Course you can get your synths to play! Make sure your on the right channels in cake, have your midi in's and out's correct, Whatever ports (parallel or USB) set with their drivers correct in Cakewalk, and the midi channels on your synth in line with Cakewalk. EZ as that. I'd check the ports first.

Also does anyone know if theres a way to extract the vocal easily. I can filter off many frequencies around the vocal I guess, but are there any plugins that effectively remove the music behind the vocals?

Unfortunately, every vocal remover out there works the same way... so you should find they do the same thing exactly.. invert one channel, then sum the 2 channels together.

It sounds like you want to achieve the impossible! Vocal extraction software is currently not good enough to either remove the vocals or the music perfectly. I can assure you that once somebody finds a way to do it, we'll have a popular program on our hands.

One vocal remover is the <a href="http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/programs/VocalRemover/">AnalogX Vocal Remover</a>. Try it out.

Problem with recording via modem

I have an external voice modem and I can talk to the telephone through a mic and a pair of loudspeakers (mic and speakers are attached to the modem); how can I make the sound come through my sound card, so I can record the conversation?
