I can only record about 5 min. then it stops!
I've tried everything I have.. I'm trying to simply record from my line-in and anywhere from 1 minute to 10 minutes... it just frikken STOPS, and it's driving me crazy.
Setup: 233mhz, 80m ram, sblive value.. and many nice progs.
is this a RAM thing? or what do i need to do?????? please mail me if you know what's up with this.
Re: I can only record about 5 min. then it stops!
From your comments I'd say you are more than just a frustrated recorder- prehaps you should deal with your other frustrations else where. Have you considered therapy? Perhaps, also, you should post the cure to your recording woes because it was not specific to your system and as you said, you had already, "tried everything." Now go get your f#ckin' shine box...
Re: I can only record about 5 min. then it stops!
Fisrt of all.. GET A GRIP. After that, tell us all what are u trying to do ? U just say record record, RECORD WHAT ? A music file, a movie, your beautiful voice.. WHAT ?
Ya I know you have many nice programs, WHICH ONE ARE U USING to record ?
Most likely, ure using a trial program, and it's limiting your record time.
Re: I can only record about 5 min. then it stops!
Ok, I just sat back and remembered that the net is loaded with morons.. I figured I could come here to get decent advice.., guess not. There, there's my grip.
Now, I figured out that if I stick a 1/4" cable up my ass and the other end into my LINE IN, I can electrify my cock. So, I'm now trying record the fucked up sound I get when I beat it on the table.. THROUGH THE LINE IN. **what fucking difference does it make?? either way it's LINE IN. And if I was recording my beautiful voice, I'd say MIC IN**
Did you notice I said "anywhere from 1 minute to 10 minutes, it just stops" ? hmm... talk about inconsistent huh? if it was a trial, it'd be the same every time now wouldn't it? You might miss these kinds of things, but I think I would've caught that when I installed the fucker.
I'm using CEP 1.2, SF 4.5 and Wavelab 3.. full versions. Don't worry man, it's fixed now. Get back to your joint now Beavis.
Re: I can only record about 5 min. then it stops!
for starters, asign the program more memory- as much as you can spare...

help this newbie
I'm a total newbie to the on-line music scene! All I have
right now is Hammerhead and The DT-010 from d-lusion. But
obviously I'd like more....I want to be able to write my own
tunes in the rock/electronic vein using shareware materials
right now. Where do I start? What software is a surefire
and near-flawless way to get my feet wet? I know there'll
be limitations, but I'm ready.
Any input would be great. Thanks.

CD+G Software for Mac?
Does ANYBODY make CD+G backup software for Mac? All I want to be able to do is burn a compilation disk of various songs from my existing CD+G library. Also being able to make backup copies of my disks would be very cool as well. So far the only software I've been able to find is for PC only. I have a Yamaha CRW4416S drive, which I'm told is a good drive for this task, but Adaptec Toast v.3.5.7 which came with the drive doesn't seem to be able to handle this function. One tech-support guy at Micro Technology Unlimited went so far as to suggest that I buy a separate PC system just for this function! I've just acquired a very sweet G4 and do not have unlimited funds to purchase a separate system for only one task. I find it very hard to believe that NOBODY in the CD+G biz supports the Mac platform. HELP!
Re: CD+G Software for Mac?
Welcome to the world of Mac.... THere tends to be significantly less software available for the Mac platform as compared to the PC platform.

Sync VS 840 to Computer
Any body using a Roland VS 840 sync'd to a computer multi-track or sequncing program. If so what are you using. Any gremlins?
Re: Sync VS 840 to Computer
I'm using a VS-880 occasionally sync'd to Mastertracks Pro sequencing program.(MAC) via the midi cables. Things have gone pretty smooth, I think the key is making sure that only "one" device is set up as the master, generally speaking whether you're working with MAC or IBM-compatibles.Since the VS-880 & 840 are simular, you should be able to link with most of the music software programs with a midi interface. Hope this was of some help
CD Burning with volume equalizer?
Can anyone suggest a good free/shareware cd burning program that equalizes sound levels? When I burn CD's with justaudio, the volume of certain songs comes out at different levels, even when the volume equalizer option is on. Does anyone know of better software? Thanks!
Re: CD Burning with volume equalizer?
Easy CD Creator
Re: CD Burning with volume equalizer?
Try using a Wave editor and normalise all the tracks before burning them. You can do this on practically any editor, for example Cool Edit or Goldwave.

Multitracking for $100 ?
I am looking for a multi-tracking software
for home-recording. It should be able to provide basic effects( echo, reverb)and good audio-editing.
What would be a good choice for up to a $100 ?
Re: Multitracking for $100 ?
If you've got a $100 budget, go no further than <a href="http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/programs/n-Track_studio/">n-Track Studio</a>. It's a great program. Check it out!

It amazes me, how people and companies LIE. I have yet to see the answer to your question. I will figure it out. Mp3 take a lot of memory. Therefore, if it is strict Mp3, it must be compressed to snow whatever is controlling these sites. So compression or Zip is the next thing we need to learn.
New multitrack software Tstar.
for musicians who want a simple multitrack recorder.
try Tstar. Its free to try and 20 dollars to register.
This pkg is for the musician who yearns for a more simple environment.
It can be downloaded from zdnet and winsite.com.
It does NOT do everything but eat. But it does include lots of audio editing
features and also unique features for building drum tracks from samples.
I would like input from musicians on what they would like in
future releases. PLEASE - this was a 24 hour a day 3 year
development by a developer with 30 yrs building computer systems,
and who has owned 3 recording studios - so i want
CONSTRUCTIVE input. It is not crippled in any way.
Musicians have been commenting to me for years about affordable software,
well here it is. In return i ask you all to please support me in your
registrations so i can at least make a miniscule living,
and hire additional talent to give you even more.
If my fellow musicians get behind this very sincere effort ,
then you will continue to be rewarded with a cheap multitracker
for the price of a few packets of cigarettes.
I will check back here regularly for input on new needed features.
If i can make enough from registrations i will set up a user site.
Please help me help you all.
....buying a soundcard
I'm in the process of upgrading my system and I want a respectable soundcard to record some original stuff. I have a feeling the garden variety "SoundBlasters" and others like it, fall short when it comes to recording, or am I mistaken? What things do I need to look for when choosing the "right" soundcard?
Thanx 4 your Help

Have you looked at the <a href="http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/mac/">Macintosh Music Software</a> pages

There is a lot of Pitch Shifting sofware around but
it's usually used for short samples rather than
whole songs because it takes a bit of processing
power.
There are a few programs you can download from this
site to test - <a href="http://www.hitsquad.com/cgi/htdig/htsearch.cgi?method=and&format=builtin-long&config=htdig&restrict=%2Fsmm%2Fprograms%2F&exclude=&words=Pitch+Shifting">click here for a list</a>

The newest version of real jukebox has a plugin that can burn cd's. You can use that to record rjm's or rmx's. Does anyone know a program that I convert from real audio (ra or rm) to wav's?
Re: convert .rmj to .cda for burning to CD
http://www.dbpoweramp.com/dmc.htm
but they dont have it 4 rjms 8*( but they have it 4 ra
Re: convert .rmj to .cda for burning to CD
use realjukebox's save as option (only available in full version) to put into mp3, u can then use MusicMatch Jukebox to put it into wav
