Powerbook recording

Is it possible to record acoustic instruments directly to a Powerbook or other
laptop?If so what do I need. If not now are there possibilitys for the future?

How do I Open cda tracks in Winamp from mixed audio/data cd's

howto? i only need to do this so I can write a track to disk that I cant get any popular audio track>wave program to accomplish without error because the track is so large(30minutes, 305megs)

Well I found a place to get this prog.. I converted
the .rm file. Well when I listened to the .wav file
this weird voice kept coming up every 10 seconds, it
sounded something like "I cried down" ??? can't really
make anything out of it but its there. Is this something they put in the demo version ?

Obvoiusly the way you come up with WMA files is because your burning music into your computer using windows media player..well stop using it. Use RealJukebox. You can get a free version at www.real.com. When you install it and want to burn, You actually have an option to burn in RMX WAVE, or MP3 format. In real Jukebox, go to tools and select preferences. Select the audio quality tab and change the audio to MP3. And as you know there are numerous mp3 to wav converters. Or you ca just burn to a Wave file.

Use Winamp and go into Preference (Ctrl P) under Plug-ins/Output Double click on "Nullsoft Disk Writer Plug-in v1.0 (x86)." It'll promp you a specific place where you want to convert. Then simply go back, open the song you want and then press play. Make sure you don't have repeat or random mode on, otherwise it'll keep on writting over and over again. Once you finish Simply go back to Winamp's preference and go in to the Plut-in/Output, click back to "Nullsoft waveOut v2.02 (x86)." Good luck

Hey, how about using the disk writer plug-in in WinAmp ?? You can write .wav files out of any filetype that WinAmp can play (with or without add-ons).

That's What I thought first too, but The Winamp-WMA plugin seems to magically bypass the DSP and Output plugins, although visualisation is still possible. All you get (when you select DiskWriter) is that your WMA-files play as usual and the first Mp3 to come along gets converted if you're not carefull.

If you can get that Audio Converter from ZDNet in full version you're home free. Otherwise you're f**ked :). Or you should consider looping through your soundcard (pray for a SB Live!).

try the Mediawizard shareware.
They lock out the wma-wav conversion tool, but i tried it last
night and found a neat way of hacking it.
Go to the help file index, ignore all the error
messages, and pull up "WMA to WAV" topic. This will
bring up the conversion tool box (which doesn't work but you
need to do this step in order to get the real thing!)
Exit the help screen and hit CTRL-F7 twice, and the
functioning conversion tool pops up.
Then, stick it to the man!!!!

Cubasis VST V 3.7 - Score function problem...

On the 'Score' function I am getting 'double notes' (a note on either side of each stem. Anyone any idea how I can turn this function off to get just single notes?

Cubasis VST

It will run with 32MB. At least I had it running...
But it also depends on your CPU. PentiumII is all right.

Yes you can but I would advise adding as much RAM as you can afford - the best thing to do would be to download the <a href="http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/programs/CubaseVST24/">Cubase VST/24 Demo</a> and see how well that works - if it's okay for your needs then Cubasis should work fine.

There are a few great programs which are easy to use and are great for starting with:
