i use a boss dr-5, dr-202,br-8 recorder, yamaha keyboard djx-II, cakewalk, magix studio(`windows), etc....my best shit comes from the dr-5...if you take enough time to tweak all the sounds....but my budget hasn't caught up to my ambition,(I need a good keyboard sequencer(the yamaha sux...unless you like playing other peoples shit) .. an akai would be great)) so if anyone else has some good equiptment ideas e-mail me...peace and good luck homeboy

I write rap lyrics and need some rap beats to go along with the lyrics or a producer to help me along the way. I think the lyrics themselves are good enough to be published?

A soundcard with on board memory (Awe64)
A sound Syth

Setup a template in Cakewalk with preassigen channels

Set your looping 4 or 8 measures record.

use a ext or computer keyboard to punch your samples,

Midi files(Atari st) to PC

I've been working with an Atari ST and recorded arrangements and midi files with Cubase.It's never been a problem to read DOS formatted disks on the Atari but the other way around is a problem. Does anyone have a solution on how to read TOS(Atari) formatted disks on a regular PC ? My goal is to get those recordings from Atari on the harddrive of my PC.

If you're still out there.
It seems so long ago and I've forgotten a lot.
The trick is to format a diskette in the PC and copy files onto it while it's loaded into the Atari. You probably knew that already.

Another possibility is using MIDI out from the Atari to MIDI in on the PC and actually play MIDI into the PCs Music program like Voyetra.

I notice there are now emulators on the PC but I have yet to check any of them out.

I would like to convert an .rm file to a .wav file (that is, the sound of it of course). Since i haven't found any tools to do that, my question is : can it be done, and if so: how? Myself i've thought of something like this (if there is no tool): can i redirect the sound-output that would go to my soundcard to a file instead? And in what format is it then?

1 - Importing Audio tracks, I enable it all, select the .wav to import, and....nothing happens. It doesn't say any messages about problems, just doesn't do it.

2 - Don't know how to export finished midi/audio song as just .wav to use elsewhere. It exports, but in playback there is no information, and no sound

Hi
First select an audio track (not a midi track) that you want to import on, then go to file/import audio file. Then browse to any .wav file and hit "open". It will import the file starting form your LEFT marker. I think your problem is that you have had it importet already but deleted it. Now its in your audio pool, so do this:
1. Go to Audio/pool or ctrl/F.
2. From the new window check if your .wav file is listed.
3. If so, click on its name and drag it into the arrange window to the place where you want it.

It's been a while since I used this program but I seem to recall that you can do it with <a href="http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/programs/Muse/">Muse</a>

I would like to use two or more programs at the same time, ie soundforge and a ts404 synth i downloaded from this site; but when I try to play sounds from both programs simoltaneously, I get 'microsoft sound mapper already in use'.

I know there's hubi's loopback for midi conflicts, but how do I play 2/ more of these type of programs together?- is it because you can only play one wav file at a time?

By the way, it may help to know that i have an awe 64 gold sound card

I have a fast Pentium with 80 MB RAM, Win98, endless hard drive space and a SB AWE 64 Gold with 8MB Ram. - Cubase VST 7/24.

I have a really simple setup. Drums per Midi and the rest is pure Audio recording.
But when I record a guitar track while playing back a previous track, it delays my recording (the strikes of the strings) by approx 500ms. This renders the whole program as useless.
This did not happen with an older version of Cakewalk. If I do not resolve this I will have an expensive problem!

I did notice there is a setting called "Latency" which is set to 538ms. Is this my problem. I cannot change this!

I'm really new to recording but have had a si,ilat sync problem with midid and audio. But I'm fed up with various tech solutions that don't work.

I have no solutions for you. sorry. I'm sending y CBVST back on consignment where I might recoup a little.

And I'm getting Cakewalk instead. Amd I've got a PIII, 128R.

CAN ANYONE TELL ME IF IT IS POSSIBLE TO DO THE FOLLOWING.

I WOULD LIKE TO ADD EXTRA BEATS AND MUSIC TO A SONG, THE PROBLEM IS THAT I WANT TO ADD THEM SO THAT THEY GO ALONG WITH THE BEATS THAT ARE CURRENTLY IN THE SONG ALREADY, IE, PLAY AT THE SAME TIME AS THE CURRENT BEATS.
