Real Audio to Wave! HELP PLEASE!
I have a cd burner that only let's me copy
wave files to cd but my favorites are in real audio.
I know of RA2Wave program but you have to register it.
If you don't it leaves this demo message every 10 seconds in your wave file.
Is there a program out there, freeware or simple that
can let me convert my real audio to wave.
Any and all replies welcomed.
Please Help!

SB 64 PCi and Wavesets?
I have a SOundblaster 64 PCI and it says in the manual
that you can download socalled wavesets.
Does anyone know where to find those?
(they are sorta replacement samples for the GM-sounds!)

I need help with a midi keyboard / soundcard problem
If anyone has any idea of how to solve this problem,
please post a message! Sorry about the long message,
just letting you know what I've tried.
I have an Evolution MK-149 midi master keyboard, and this
was working fine with my Creative AWE64 gold soundcard
and Cubase. However, I upgraded to a Soundblaster Live
card, and this doesn't seem to be able to receive any
midi data from the keyboard (e.g in Cubasis no light
comes on next to "midi in" on the transport bar when I
press a note on the keyboard).
I have connected the midi out port from the keyboard
(the only midi port on the keyboard) to the midi in
port (of which there are two, but I have tried both)in
the soundcard. I have tested a few different wires
as well.
I have selected "SBLive! MIDI in [E800]" as the Cubase
Input in the Steinberg Setup MME program (used for
configuring midi devices in Cubase/Cubasis).
The only clue I've got about what the problem might be
is from a DirectX diagnostic program.
This says (under the Music tab) that the default port
for DirectX is "Microsoft Synthesizer". Neither midi
mapper or any of the soundcard drivers (for the synths
and midi in/out ports) are set as the default port, and
I don't know how to change this.
The program also says that Microsoft Synthesizer
supports DLS whatever that is, but nothing else in
the list does. Seems like Microsoft want to stop me writing tunes
or something.
Please Help!!!
Thanks for your time,
Ben
Re: I need help with a midi keyboard / soundcard problem
Sorry I don't have a solution to your problem
In fact I'm writing to say I've got the same problem
I think it's just a big fuck up from creative
I phoned the tech support and they drove me round to uninstall, install and a lot of bla bla.
I'll try asking again.
If I have a solution I'll keep in touch
Please do the same because it's a pain in the arse.
Ps: only way around it was (for me) to plug my keyboard in my ada-mp1 gtr pre-amp (midi in) and come out of it through midi thru.
try it out if you have another midi device at home
see ya

Ben,
Find your Creative Mixer and make sure your midi recording
function is turned on. You may have to play around a bit,
but the mixer is the key to your different functions. Notice the different icons
in recording (right click dI think) and you will see the icons for
individual function.
Try this will check in a couple of days.

I currently have a PowerMac 7100, but have never used it for audio. Because it's one
with Nu-Bus slots, I'm considering buyin a new PC(probably a Dell). I want to be able to
do sequencing, multi-tracking and audio restoration of old demos. I also want to be able to
burn my own CDs. I've visited a number of discussion sites and hear alot of horror stories
about incompatibilitly and poor sound quality.........basically alot of frustration from
users. I need some reassurance before I put out the "big bucks"!! If I use "CD Architect"
for CD burning, Steinberg "Clean" for audio restoration and "n-Tracks" for multi-tracking (I'll get into sequencing later...I do it on my keyboard for now). will I
be able to put together clean crisp audio, without going crazy trying!!!!!!!!!!
Please feel free to e-mail me with your success stories!!!!!!!!!!!!

Questions about Encore 4.0
I live in Argentina, and I´ve liked music. I have the Encore 4.0, the software to compose music, but I lost the user´s guide. I want to know what I may do to get it here, or if you can send me it by mail (I will pay the cost of the guide). I cannot find a book about this product either in my country nor in Amazon or Barnes&Noble by Internet.
Please, answer to me as soon as possible.
My name is Mrs. Alejandra S. Rivadulla
email: arivadulla@infovia.com.ar
Re: Questions about Encore 4.0
Passport, the makers of Encore are now out of business. They were bought out by GVox, the guitar and midi music provider. If you contact them you should be able to get a manual.m Just to let you know there is an up-grade to the 4.0 version. You can get that from them also. It does have some thing that are better. GVox is also having problems fixing some of Encores' bug.
Plugin/Conversion for Roland .SVQ files?
Does anyone know of a plugin that will allow one to
read audio files in .SVQ format? This is a file
format used by Roland keyboards. Are there plugins
somewhere? Conversion software? Thanks :)

I don't know of any plug-ins that can convert .SVQ files directly but here's what I do on the XP-50: I load the .SVQ into the XP-50's sequencer. Then I save it as a .MID (standard MIDI) file by pressing Disk Utility, 3:Save, 3:SMF-1, and Enter. The SMF-1 option saves the song as a MULTI-TRACK standard MIDI file that you could import into your favorite multi-tracking software. Cakewalk easily imports the file and splits it into separate MIDI tracks with one command. The SMF-0 option would save your song as a SINGLE-TRACK standard MIDI file combining all your Roland tracks into only one track. You wouldn't want to use this for multi-tracking purposes.
Hope that helps.
Re: Plugin/Conversion for Roland .SVQ files?
you could try at
www.harmony-central.com/software
or ask at
www.rolandUS.com

what is a SVQ-file? a sample-format? a voice?
an instrument? a patch?

Sending MIDI sequence fromMC-303 to MY PC
Hello,
I'm using a PC with Windows 98 and a sound card Montego.
Please, can you tell me how to send a MIDI sequence from my MC-303 Groovebox to my PC? In fact, I'd like to send, by MIDI connection, Track by Track a musical sequence (for example a playing Bassline)from the MC to Quartzaudio Master (a multitrack as Cubase).
It will avoid me to re-record track after track all the MC-303 track's Patterns directly in QuartzAudio Master.
Thanks for help

Newbie help. Making a cd of favorite songs....
I am trying to make one cd containing my favorite songs
from 10+ cd's. I am very uncertain as to how to do this.
Will someone please direct me to information on how this
can be achieved? Any help is most gratefully accepted. :)
Re: Newbie help. Making a cd of favorite songs....
get CDFS.VXD (if you don't find it send me an
email, I'll give it to you, it's free)
copy it into your windows/system directory and
you'll be able to copy your tracks from audio-cds
as WAV onto your harddisk without any program.
then just burn your favorite tracks on cd.

Re: Cool Edit Pro 'Help'..when recording
It's just very complicated using that multitrack situation in cool edit pro
i think it's better if you abandon that thing and use acid or something like that,
a program that is designed to multitrack samples
