You can easily convert .wav to .mp3 with the use
of MusicMatch at musicmatch.com This is a FREE
program with option to update to their PLUS version. However, the FREE version is adequately
functional in all respects.....

You can mix MP3, by using a program called Virtual Turntables. You can download a sharware demo, by searching for it through Altavista.

You don't even need two soundcards. All you need to do is get a program called virtual turntables that program mixes mp3s and wav files.
It is just like using turntables and a mixer.
