convert a .asx file to .wav file?

I have a nice melody that I want to 'embed' in the homepage from my site, and let play it "infinitily, with button to stop. It is a Windows Media file .asx. I sthere a system or a software to convert this asx.file into a wav.file? Thank you.

Dear Sir,

Due to I hv found a one japanese Animation main song on internet. But that type was asx file. [Only play on Window Media Player 9.] So I want get some software for convert to midi, mp3 or wave file.

im looking for a program that will make the volume on my computer louder coming out my speakers.
Ive already bought a speaker wire that controls volume but doesnt make it any louder.
Ive also downloaded many programs that are alternates to the volume control system that comes with windows..but again not making it any louder.
Is there any program out there that does this??

Do we still need "sound pallettes"?

Several years ago I was using a notation software for arranging and used what was called a sound pallette to assign an instrument sound to each of the parts of the arrangement to allow me to get a better idea of what it sound like when performed by the orchestra...I do not see sound pallettes mentioned when reading up of the new software...do we still need sound pallettes or have the newer sound cards and software rendered them unnecessary?

vst instruments vs. outboard midi gear (latency problems)

Experiencing latency between VST Instruments and outboard Midi instruments.

VST instruments have a faster midi response than outboard Midi instruments (to an onboard, e.g. Cubase sequencer). To date, the problems most folks have expressed has been from the latency that occurs when recorded audio tracks are played/recorded along with Midi tracks. Now there's this new latency problem between VST instruments and outboard (attached and interfaced) midi gear (e.g. an outboard synth). Although there is a feature that allows one to delay midi timing in Cubase to accommodate the audio track and midi tracks problem, what can be done about this "new problem"?

To clarify: say I have four midi tracks recorded. Two of them I assign to VST instruments (loopazoid, ModelE, two I assigned to outboard gear (e.g. a JP8000 and an ASR-X).
The VST instruments are triggered slightly ahead of the outboard gear. Sure I can go in an look at each midi track and move the notes slightly forward, but this is hardly an elegant process, furthermore, what if I decide to switch the assignments between outboard and "inboard" (i.e. the VST instruments?).

My gear:

Mac G3 Yosemite
300mhz/300megs RAM
midiman midisport midi interface
Motu 2408 audio interface
Vst instruments (ModeleE, Pro-5, Loopazoid)
Outboard (asr-x, Ts-10, JP-8000)

Don't know. But you can capture the RA as a wav using <a href="http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/programs/SoundGrabber/">this</a>.

I'm still using the Cubase 2.0 version on my Atari St1040.
My sun placed the key of the program upside down in the computer, so the key doen'nt function anymore.
Is it possible to replace the key or is there another way to help me?

Korg D-16 trouble

I just got my d-16 2 days ago and i was trying to make a simple recording,(just to check out the quality).
I followed the basic steps to record, but when i tried to listen to it, a message appear saying "Loading song". I thought it was gonna take just a little while, but when i came back, (almost 1 hour after), the sign was still there and i had to unplug it, i turned it back on and shut it down , but this time the "shutting down" message appeared taking more than 1 hour before i disconnected for the second time.

I'm not really sure if i have to make an "initializing" to the internal drive, because the manual says that it would erase the containning data, or if i gotta wait too much time just to turn it off or hearing a track recorded.

Is this normal?
Will it damage the system 'cause i turned it off the wrong way?

I would appreciate your wise advice.

Check your settings on your volume, you might have the volume turned down.

not a stupid question. Any software will find this port. Cakewalk, Cubase, Logic... Even if it doesnt you can set it to that particular port in the preferences/options menu. Good luck.

File Conversion!?!?

Can anyone tell me if Mac systems use the same formats (file extensions ex. .WAV,.MP3,.WMA) as PC? My problem is this: My band recorded in a studio that used a Mac to record the audio. They gave us the raw, unmixed tracks on CD-R, so we could mix and master the tracks on our own. I cannot figure out what the format is for the raw tracks and my windows based system does not recognize the files. What can I do to convert these files? Any and all help will be appreciated.
