Problem with Logic

Hi there....would appreciate a pointer or 2
I'm new to logic audio (silver) and i can't seem to get any sound output from my speaker.
the problems not with the soundcard (SBLive) or the software conflicts....but that i ca'nt hearr any WAV files from my speakers.

When I transfer WAV files from the hard drive to logic....i can't get any sound output.
frustrating as hell.....

Out of all the internet sites I have visited over the last six years of
browsing the internet, your site has by far the most irritating,
and most off putting.

This is a pity because Hitsquad.Com is one of the best music sites
for useful `Content' purposes.

It isn't very often I give `feedback' to internet sites, but I felt this

I have Creative's Sound Blaster Live with the digital interface. I use this in conjunction with my digital audio workstation. Does anyone know of an A/D converter with mulitple inputs that is compatible with the Live! digital DIN connector??

Macintosh and Windows NT only it would appear.

Digidesign do not offer downloadable demos/trials
of the Pro Tools products, only the plug-ins.

Hi! I posted this question before but didn't really get the answer that I was looking for. I've been told that not all converters are created equal and that quality can vary from converter to converter when going from mp3 to wav REGARDLESS of the quality of the original mp3. In other words the degradation of quality is happening DURING the conversion process. I'd like to better understand the technical reasons for this and am looking for recommendations on the best quality converters. Not looking for recommendations without a little bit of the reasons why it's recommended. Thanks alot-email responses are fine too.

Yes you can, by playing the WMA file, and routing it through Virtual Audio cable or Total Recorder and recording the generated output.

Slow playback

I have copied a few audio cds. Sometimes when I try to play them on my Alpine cd player there will be a long pause when you skip to a song(10-20 secs). But the cd plays fine in some other cd players, like a factory GM. I have tried different brands of cd-r, but nothing helps.

can read URLs than span over 1 line :) I also took the liberty to forward

You basically need the following:
1. tape player (natch)
2. tapes (duh)
3. soundcard in your computer.
4. a Y cable that attaches to your tapes output, which then connects to your soundcards audio input
5. a program which will record all those songs inot wav format.
6. approxamitely 10 megabytes free on your hard disk for every minute of audio you wish to record.
7. CD burner, and program which burns wav files to CD in AUDIO format

Yes, if you have a CD writer, you certainly can, you need either a program that will write (burn) mp3's to a cd in AUDIO format or you need a program that can convert MP3's to wav files, and all CD burning programs will burn wav files to a CD in audio format.

If you want an MP3 to wav converter, get Winamp
( www.winamp.com ), if you don't have it already. it's an MP3 player, but has a built in converter also.

I assume your talking about Vitual Turn Tables...
If so, I haven't used to program in a while, but if you want to record rapping, you have to hook in a mic and record it seperatly, or put your uptput through a P.A or into a recorder,a dn have a mic hooked up to your rig.

It seems you are not using the demo version that Steinberg kindly provide.
ie You are using the Radium version, in which case, the installer comes in two parts, setup.exe and setup.w02 You probably only have half of Cubase,

I downloaded the same file, after i downloaded it i extracted it (zip file) to a new file and then it puts all the files etc into 5 folders then you run install and when it says insert disk 2 you simply change the destination from e.g. c:/cubase/disk1 to c:/cubase/disk2. if you still can't do it then email me and i'll try and send the 5 disk folders to you

Hi there,

Napster needs to know or 'think' the file is an MP3. My advice is to convert the file to MP3. Most people are reluctant to download WAVs because of their file size.

THE last time I Logged on to NAPSTER,it said METALLICA had banned me,so i logged off and decided to then play my already downloaded files from napster TO DROWN MY SORROWS!.....but wait a minute,upon playing them i could hear a terrible popping noise over the top of the music.Is this a freak occurance that's happened to my hard drive...or did napster (or mettalica legal lot) somehow corrupt OR SPREAD A VIRUS TO all my mp3 files in the shared napster folder to make sure i couldn't use them.
