You should download the program Audio-Grabber.
Then, connect your stereo output to your pc.
Audio-grabber has a function called LINE-IN.
You can record to WAV or directly to MP3. However, if you want to put them onto CD yourself afterwards, use the WAV-format.

ways i know of

convert to wav with soundforge or awave or winamp then convert with audioactive production studio or even with latest version of soundforge

when i play on my piano keyboard (trough midi on soundcard yamaha s-yxg50) the sound delays 300ms before corresponding, so it is difficult to play with a simultaneous beat when i want to record on my tracker.
do you have solutions please?

I am looking for software tool to strip out such things as drums or guitar parts so I can play along, record and review my progress while learning a song.

Preferably something I can demo before buying.

Well steinberg do a filter for wavelab that cancels out central frequencies (usually vocals) however i havent heard of it being used on other instruments as it seems to work by reversing the phase of one of the channels and then recombining the audio (same principle used by engineers to allow monitoring with speakers instead of headphones while recording vocals)
i think the plug in is called karaoke or something similar I have heard it working on vocals and it does work

you need a program that supports directX, e.g.
cubase vst and soundforge.
without such a program your plug-ins are worth
nothing.

WinCE and music sequencer

notation/sequencing on handheld eg.HP660LX with 32meg
RAM and 64meg CompactFlash card? I found one called
Noter at www.palmpointer.com, but it only plays on Palm
Pilots.

cubase and midi express PC

anyone here using cubase (audio) and midi express PC?

everytime I start cubase it resets all my synths to
default-volumes, although I disabled everything except
"note on/off", "controller" and "pitch" in the midi
express console.
the MXP also has timing-problems when I use more than
20 midi-tracks.

and my computer often hangs when I just select another
track while playing the arrangement.

this all didn't happen that often before I installed
the newest SB16-driver for windows. since I copied
that shit on my HDD my Cubase-setup was changed (!!!).
all instrument-settings have been changed. I don't
know why because the SB16-driver hasn't to do anything
with the cubase-songs.

anyone here who experienced similar problems?

Conversion of files from Roland to Technics

Can someone help me please?
I have been sent a 31/2" floppy which has songs programmed using a Roland xp10 keyboard. As I have a Technics KN800 keyboard the floppy is unable to load the files onto my keyboard. How do I convert this? Is this easy or should I just give up this?

if your KN-800 supports MIDI-files
look around or ask ROLAND if there is a converter
tool for the XP-10 and convert it to MIDI.

I have never attempted to write my own software,
but I just cant to seem to find some of the features and
effects that I am thinking about in my head so I decided
the only way I am going to get the progs of my dreams to make
them myself. That’s where some kind soul who knows how to
program progs comes in. I have been making music for about
2 years mainly on my Computer so I know all the music jargon
pretty good I reckon, but I don’t know anything about programming
so if you are kind enough to help me out pleasebe patient at first as
I am sure I will pick it up fast. It cant hurt to have another author
out there making more progs so If you are interested please
give me a mail, and we will work something out.

Mixman Studio Pro 16 ???

Hi yall...I got a version of mixman called Mixman Studio Pro 16.
But now Ive been to their site and all they talk about is some version called 3.0
So how the heck can I update my version if there isnt even a word on the site about this ?

soundforge / plug-ins

soundforge offers an amount of nice fx that you
can also use to modify voices.

if you own cubase, logic or soundforge use
plug-ins. there are enough to edit voices.
