Cd burner
Hi... heres the problem: i download mp3's and then when they are complete i set them up so i can burn them on to a cd and then my computer shows a mesage that says:the file has unrecognized file extentions valid extntions are .wav and .mp3 please select a file with a .wav or .mp3 file extention

Hi Ashley, You might simply select the file and change its name to make sure the extension is .MP3

roland mc500 mkII
I am looking for a copy of the roland MC500 MKII system disc. My own copy is corrupt and I do not have a backup. I would be really grateful for any help

Soundforge 4.5
I've had soundforge 4.5 for ages and what I want to do is record my dj-ing onto soundforge and put in track markers without making a gap, then record it onto CD. I've been told its possible but no-one who has the program seems to know how!

You need to have cd architect, which is a seperate program and loads itself into the tool menu of soundforge. You then add your soundforge .wav file to cd architect (add to audio pool) and you right click your mouse and a pop up menu will appear. select add track and a track marker will be placed at the spot selected. Add your tracks where you want your mixes to start or end or in the middle, whatever. CD Architect was made by sonic foundry for soundforge but is no longer available and only works with 4.5.

cd creator engine initialization
I removed some software and defraged my C: drive now when I try to initialize Easy CD Creator I get this message Engine initialization has failed: could not create the engine. I have uninstalled the reinstalled the software and still get the message.

sound cards
I wasn't sure if this came up before but can you guys recommend a good sound card.
I have been looking at Creatives Audigy Platinum and was wondering what else there was out there. There some downsides with the audigy I have found such as the latency ratings and all the extra crap it has to load in order to run it. I was wondering what you guys use.
Music software companies like Native Instruments, Steinberg and Propellerheads ask for latency of under 20ms and Asio Driver Capable.
I basically need to upgrade my Sound card for music creation and need midi ports, low latency, and asio driver capable. I need to be able to run a oxygen 8 and a korg electribe on it. I want to be able to run as close to realtime as possible without delay.

lyric composing software
Is there such software to compose lyrics for the lazy songwriter

Computers can't even compose a proper sentence without a lot of rules covering grammar and such like, so getting one to write lyrics is even more difficult. I'm afraid you'll have to do the work yourself, or get a songwriter to do it for you.

executive who said if computers could write songs
he'd save a fortune in royalties :)

file extensions
I have some song sequinces that i wrote on my roland keyboard/sequincer that i no longer own,the files were saved as a ".svq" file extension (Rolands Proprietary extension) i would like to use these files in a normal sequincer , but they need to be changed to a normal ".mid" file extension, i know this is possible to do but im not sure how HELP
Hi-speed tape transfer question
I need to save time when transfering a bunch of old reel-to-reel audio tapes to disk. Does anyone know if there is a software package that will allow me to play those tapes back at 4X original speed and then correct them back to the normal speed on the PC? The tapes were originally recorded at 1 7/8 ips and if played back at 7 1/2 ips the transfer time can be cut by a factor of 4. Thanx.

Is there acomputor software package that would allow me to download a pice of music and for my computor to give me the notation/score for that piece of music.

This can only be done with great accuracy in very
limited ways such as music which is monophonic
(only one note playing at a time) or music which
is polyphonic but only one instrument playing -
like a piano.
Some software will try to create a score from
polyphonic music with multiple instruments playing
but with limited results as it usually won't be
able to identify the instruments even if it can
identify the notes and chords.
The type of software you are looking for is a 'WAV
to MIDI' converter which will create a MIDI file
which you can then edit using a <a href="http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/cat/NOTATION/" target="_top">Notation</a> program.
Go to the <a href="http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/cat/FORMAT_CONVERTERS/" target="_top">Format Converters</a> category on this site - try
IntelliScore as it's a pretty good one.

The software you are looking for is one that can
record any audio produced by your computer's sound
card - just like a VCR machine for your TV.

flat line in recording (qubase)
i just installed qubase 5.1 and after 30 sec of recording (from mic or line in input)it seems like it still records but the line of the recorded track is flat and the qubase is not recording.
What can I do?
My hardwear:400 Mhz proccesor
128 Mb memory
2 Gb hard disc

Can i get rid of the interference?
Anyone know how to get rid of interference when using fruity loops 3 on windows 98. When i play back i get crackle all through the track
Converting MP3 files
I would like to know if it is possible and how to convert MP3 files to midi file. Or kar (karaoke) files to midi files.

Generally, it isn't possible to convert pre-recorded music to a MIDI file, since it is far to complicated to determine which instruments are playing which notes. Some programs can do the conversion where only a single instrument is involved, but even then they're not very accurate.

Recording to hard drive?
I have windows ME and I am curious, can I take my existing musical cds and store them on my hard drive? Can I make playlists to listen to them on my speakers or a patch thru my stereo amplifier? Thanks John
