Stitching together audio files
Hi,
Does anyone know of any way to stitch together sound files sequentially, either using a batch file list or with the help of an ActiveX control?
Ideally I want to be able to give a program a list of files or filenames and get a long concatenated version of these files back.
Thanks

Downloads Fail
I have tried (on two different PC's)downloading several of the CD/Cassette labelling software from Shareware Music Machine. When I try to run them I get error messages saying that the exe file is corrupt, or the zip file is not a valid archive file (for Winzip). Anyone with this experience? How did you solve it?

Delay in burning
I guess this is a common question but I havn't been able to find the
solution, so does anyone know how to get rid of that
2 second delay when burning a Cd, I have heard there is
software you can buy but knowone knows the name of it
Re: Delay in burning
I think it's actually a 3 second delay, and what you can do is before burning, enable Disc at once.
Also, remember that sometimes there is silence in the beginning and end of your tracks.
Hope this helps!

The best programme on the market for that today is the Magix Piano and Keyboard workshop.

Hi
Music World 2.3 will show you the notes for any midi that you enter into it hope this helps
Re: Is there any software that will allow me to see how a midi t
The old Band in a box program will allow you to graphically see how the keys on a keyboard are played as a midi file is played.Unfortunately it doesn't read .mid format only saves in this format. You could always seek out the manufacturers to see if any of their new stuff fits the bill.

REPLY :
1. re. Cakewalk - try "view > new > staff". This can be printed, if required.
2. re. cord - "Joystick port (15 pin) to MIDI in/out (DIN)" cable, available at Musicians' Friend, Radio Shack etc.
If you have a laptop, may I suggest Roland Virtual Sound Canvas (VSC-33) as output device of choice (available from Edirol, Roland etc, or try search engine!!). Sound quality is excellent, and you will then be independent of your keyboard. Using the Cakewalk Virtual Piano you can compose on the bus, etc. without needing a keyboard or external sound module. Really.
Good luck !!

Re: cakewalk
Hey, follow up to the below... I have an ensoniq TS-10 keyboard and all the necessary cables. Can cakewalk/keyboard be set up so that the midi file/tracks can be exported from the computer midi file into the keyboard's memory track by track (or all at once)? If so, is there any necessary setup steps w/i cakewalk to accomplish this?
Thanks,
Jay

Re: cakewalk
Cakewalk will not do transcription, but there is a program called Sibelius, which will do that.
As for hooking up your keyboard, you probably know the standard midi connector is the round one, but you don't see one on your computer. If you have a sound card (I assume you do :) )
you will see a 15 pin connector on it. It is shaped like a trapezoid. It functions as a joystick port and a Midi port. What you need is a cord that has a 15 pin connector on one end, usually it ahs a passthrough for a joystick or other dvices, adn teh other end has a MIDI in and out cnnector. Look at your local Radio Shack store, or whatever other place sells electronics and computer/music equipment.

Re: cakewalk
: Cakewalk DOES do transcription, although in a somewhat basic fashion. However I personally wouldn't recommend Sibelius, despite being one of the market leaders as it is very expensive and has the somewhat annoying limitation of not being able to drag & drop, which even Cakewalk will do!
Do what the first reply said and goto "view" "Score" and you will see the notes that you have recorded on the selected stave or track. This will print the individual parts or you can select any number of tracks to print up the conductor's score. Goto "File" "info" to input the Title and other details for printing on your score. If you require more details on the use of Cakewalk including the printing of transposed parts, please Email me. I'll be happy to help.

stand alone mp3-wav converter?
I don't really want winamp. I use Sonique, which I think is WAY cooler if only for it's awesome visual plugin (if you haven't seen it, you really should). I also already have ripping and encoding software...so winamp would kinda be a waste of space, y'know?
Any simple solutions? Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Mp3 ---> Cassette
Connect the line out of the soundcard to the aux or MD jack of the stereo, then set the stereo to AUX or MD, so you should get noise coming through the stereo. It is quite simple really.
After that you press record on the tape section of the stereo and fucken ripper, it's crankin'

No wonder your having a problem. On the back of your stereo the AUX and MD jacks are input jacks. On your computer the Line In and Microphone jacks are input jacks, you are going from input to input. If you want to output from your computer and record onto the stereo you are going to have to go from the line out jack of the computer to either the AUX or MD connectors on the stereo. If you want to record the other way, from stereo to digital, you need to go from Line Out on the stereo to Line in or Mic on the computer. I suggest Line in.

Re: mp3 to wav converter
Winamp is a really great MP3 player, huh?
Did you know it aslso has a converter built in?
Just go into the options menu, and click "output"
choose "Disc writer" and select teh directory the wav files are to be saved to.
then, put all the songs you want to convert into the playlist, turn off repeat, and random, if they are on.. and after it's finished, make sure you change the output driver back to the one it was before (Probably wav out)
