Re: Getting regular CDRs to record on home stereo burners

I tried that on the phillips double cd deck and it doesn't work that well at all, I too and very frustrated with forking out $600.00 to find out later that the blanks for it are 3-6 times more expensive, and after all I am recording my own music!!!!! So why should I be paying money to the music industry to record my own tunes, they are ripping me off!!! JUSTICE!!! so anyone know how to do this I just want to use a regular cdr....

MIDI Kareoke

I'm looking for software that lets you add Kareoke lyrics to a MIDI file. I sequence lots of things for schools and want to have the words appear as the music plays. I've used Arnouds MIDI player and it works great but...I can't create my own works.
Any Suggestions.

version 1.0 is freeware, 2.0 costs about $35.

but any soft-synth should be able to create
noise.

CoolEdit Pro bug?!

Hi ppl!

I 've got CoolEdit Pro version 1.0 and the 1.1 upgrader. When I run CE Pro 1.0 the prog starts but then finishs abruptly - only the tip box stays. If I want to install version 1.1 with the upgrade kit, it says while copying the files: "coolpro.exe cannot be indentified as a previous version" - the installer aborts. So it's stays same as before.
A month ago I used the prog just as normal and I hadn't any probs...

Have anyone experienced this prob? Then plz help!

you can convert WAVs to VQF or VQF to WAV with
VQ-Sound Compression. you can get a free
trial-version at

Audio CD to a midi file Software?

I am trying to find software that will enable me to play a CD and save the selection as a midi file. I am interested in taking solos off CD and converting to midi files so that I can print them out using Cakewalk or other sequencing programs. I know that music scan does this with sheet music but am looking to do the same using an audio.
Is there such a beast?

I am old and stupid - I know - but does anyone of my fellow musical collegues know WHICH IS THE easiest, quickest, most user friendly software that will allow me to help my students SEE what I just played???? I want to play a passage, or a mega chord structure and then PRINT it out for a student. Macintosh Power PC with Yamaha 8000 is my platform. Any help will be gratefully accepted.

I'm looking for some software that can be used to record from the line out
socket of my amplifier to my computers hard disk. The problem is, that I
don't have a very powerful computer. I have a Toshiba T4700 laptop it is a
DX2-66 with 16Mb of RAM and a built in soundcard with a microphone socket,
running Windows 95. I'm not looking for anything fancy or to be able to
use 24 track facilities, I just need something that can give me a noise
free recording that I can maybe mess about with a bit e.g pitch, effects
etc (but that part is not essential). Any suggestions?

Hello Rick,

A program that will do what you want is Cool Edit 96

In your sound card doesn't have a line in for recording
you will have to be very careful that you don't record
a distorted signal as the one coming from your line out
will easily overpower your mic in on your sound card.

If you have a fairly powerfull powermac
use snapz 2 pro from
www.ambrosiasw.com
it takes anything on your screen and can turn it into a movie and save it in different formats and qualities if you have quicktime pro
