i have lost so many cds to this. i usually get about 25% burned then it fails and says SCSI Target error...but it does not explain. what is going on?!!

I've had the same problem with my USB ReWriter. I updated my Nero 5.5.32 to Nero 5.5.90 and the problem is gone. Hope it helps...

i also use nero multiple recorder option
useing 3no of write in one system

If you have Windows Media Player 7.0 installed it also adds Adaptec buring software. You need to uninstall just that portion and your Nero program will work again.

I got the SCSI Target Error all the time with my Acer 32/10/40 until I installed Nero 5.5.6.4. It is the ONLY Nero version which worked with no problem.

i get always INVALID BLOCK ADDRESS, WRITE ERROR, or LOGICAL BLOCK OUT OF RANGE errors. I have tried ALL the solutions. I can't do anything more. All I can do is to flood Ahead's tech support email for an answer... try!

I'm using WinXP, HP CD-writer+ 8200a, Nero 5.5.5.6, and as far as I know, I hava NO SCSI devices.
(tring to burn an Audio-CD)
I've begin using all this for a while and it's the first time that happens.

I bought a new cdrw: acer 20x10x40 (Atapi Cd-R/RW 20x10) Model: 2010A Firmware-Version H.JH
I'm using nero 5.5.3.2 under Windows 98 and put the cd-r/rw on the 2. IDE-Port as master.

I got also the described Problem: The first burns (about 20-30) including simulations worked without problems... but then suddenly the error: SCSI Target Error occured. First just when i was burning and then everytime also during the simulation.

I was quiet in panik and found this page ... but the help of some users didn't worked (fully).
So what I did was the following (all with the help of the nero help sides: )

1. I switched off the "Auto Insert Notification"(AIN) under "System","Device Manager","Settings"
2. I switched off the "DMA" also under "System","Device Manager","Settings"

(as other users told ,too)
The scsi target error dissapeared but the error "invalid block address" now was interrupting the burn/simulation-mode. So I went on with:

3. I renewed the the WinAspi drivers but that was not so important to my mind, I uninstalled the plugin for the Adaptec Easy CD in my Windows Media player 7.1 under "Software","Windows Media player 7.1","add/remove","allow removal of shared components"

When I got some problems with "Buffer underrun" I deaktivated the Journal Function of Office
but that is also not so important.

Erm...i've been reading quite interestingly, but i've the exact same Drive, but this time on XP and it finds the drivers it self and the buffer under run works fine,

Me too....but i noticed that i conly get this error when trying to burn a backup of a new CD_Rom that is copyrighted....maybe copy protection

Actually, this is an extremely common problem, and as far as I know, it must have something to do with Nero... I've never had that problem before with any other SW. I use an Acer 24/8/04 CDRW and I get that same error 9 out of 10 times... Now, there may be a couple of things you can try to make it work, or at least, make it work better:
In "Hardware settings" in Windows, locate the "IDE/ATAPI" devices, find the IDE channel on which you have your burner installed.
Then, change from "DMA if available" to "PIO only" on your burners channel.

Another good thing to try (if you have the possibility) is to set your burner as the Master of its IDE channel.

Hope this will help some of you.
