DITTO for me too using Phillips CDD3600 (SCSI)
I think it's a CD/RW driver conflict, but I tried uninstalling all other CDR software and renamed all drivers - & still get the same :(
I've just logged a "fault" with the providers - hopefully get a fix soon.

I've been using (trying to use) Nero for months. Lacking ANY instructions, someone finally told me to make them wav first, someone else told me to use only cdr, not cdrw. A third person finally told me to use slower write speed.

Too bad that ALL those instructions are not available in the same user manual. A user manual that comes with the software when you buy it. [the customer service at Ahead sux really badly]

Best results I've gotten so far: One cd player (stereo in living room) doesn't recognize the disc at all. Other cd player (Discman) will not play the first song on the disc, but will go on to play the others.

The first song starts, plays about 5 seconds, then stops. I press pause, then play and it will start, play 5 to 10 seconds then stop.

This is burning at 2x speed, worse at anything faster. It still includes pops, squeeks, skips, etc.

I'm ready to conclude that Nero is trash.

You cannot just copy MP3's to a CD and expect it to work in a normal CD player. The MP3's need to to be converted to a CD digital audio format first. If you are using EZCD Creator the program will do it for you. If not there are a ton of shareware programs that will accomplish the same thing.

Does the drive recognize a disc? If not, use silver CDs. I had a similar problem with VCDs.

i think u need to convert mp3 to wave files i use a program called pyro by cakewake its very simple to use it will covert cd to mp3 and mps to wav u can do in winamp its a littel more dif.

buy cd-r music cd. it will play on any cd or dvd player

I have just install 5.5.8.0 and get the same error. Did you manage to fix it?

If u r using adaptec easy cd creator 4 u can update it to be able to burn 80mins cdr go to roxi web site and search for a patch to do this.

Encoding Process Fails

Every time I try to encode my avi files to make vcds, it freezes up after reaching 90-92%! I successfully made one before but it seems to be stuck now. any ideas

every time i install nero when i try to run it it causes a page fault in cdrom.dll then shuts down and takes my cd rom icon away so i have to reboot to get my d: drive back anyone got any ideas thanks in advance

This fix works. By renaming the "cdrom.dll" to "cdrom.dl l" it takes care of the problem.

try www.afternapster.com there are alot of programs on there but the one that I have found that works the best is www.kazaa.com and download the kazaa desktop... i have already downloaded and burned over 80 movies to cd... hope this helps you.. have a blast!! michelle

All you have to do is go on the Adaptec website and download aspi.exe and that will fix everything

similar problem here. I get
win ASPI could not open file '?.?' and then forces the computer to use virtual drives. I am using WinME ... and I have tried reinstalling the OS but the problem persists. I would appreciate any help.

Please help. I have burned an AVI file to VCD using Nero5.5.3.5. I get a tick sound every second when I play the VCD in my DVD player. Is there a setting in Nero somewhere that will remove the ticking?

I am using Nero MediaPlayer ver 1.103. However whenever I try and record tracks from music CD’s’ from either my internal CD-ROM or an external CD-RW drive I get the following error message:-
‘Cannot convert CD-ROM drive letter into ASPI information. Digital recording is impossible’

I have tried changing the settings for the input device to both analogue and digital reading but nothing seems to work. As I can play files from the CD with no problems I’m mystified as to why I cannot record, and what the message actually means.

Anybody else having the same problem or know what causes this error?

Burning CD help

Hi
I have been burning CDs with Nero for a while by using Napster and Bearshare, but now there's a song I can't find. I have the song on a CD I borrowed from a friend, but I don't know how to download this one song onto my computer so that I can put it in with my other songs I've downloaded and burn them. Any help is needed.
