I downloaded this program, but it doesn't work with my rio300 neither in WinXP, nor in Win98SE. When I connect rio to my computer It just keep refreshing. Does anybody have an idea how to get it work???

Rioport Audiomanager is useless in Win2000 or XP. You cannot keep connections established. Use RioShell or Dreaming of Brazil. They work at least.

rio 300 firmware upgrade?

i know that they made a special edition with 64mb internal
i dont think they will do an upgrade, they've moved on to better things

New Chassis

Hi.
I really wondered, when a friend of mine crashed his new pmp300 and the backside broke. He wanted to clean the SM-slot and broke up the case with a "swiss-knife" <-- dear!
Now he gave me the player with a 32MB sm card with the words: If you fix it, you can have it. Nice, but is there any possibility to get the backside of an rio pmp300 without buying a complete used one?

It dosent work on mine. I just got 128mb SM card and it did'nt work. It dose work on my laptop, so I know the card is good.

As far as I remember, you can only use up to a 32Mb card. Right? If it can be a 64Mb, someone let me know before I go splurge on a 32Mb.

RIO 300 can only support 8, 16, and 32mb smart media cards. 64mb and 128mb wont work

RIO 300 32 MB Smart Media Card problems! *SOLVED*

For everyone who uses RIOsitude 3.11.... and gets an error like u have to Format ur RIO 300 or whatever... I found a nifty way of doing this.... I downloaded Dreaming of Brazil 3beta6.... Load up Dreaming of Brazil 3beta6, Then Click on the EXTERNAL tab. and hit Initilize. after that is done... close Dreaming of Brazil, and load up RIOsitude 3.11 AND BOOM! ur External link should light up and work like new. I hope this works as well for you guys as it did for me. If u have some Questions u can try Emailing me at skafan@peoplepc.com though this is about all I know about this situation.... the device can read fat 12 smartmedia cards only ( ie 32mb and below) if you put a fat 16 device in the player it will not work....

fat 12/16 is a file format system similair to the fat on your PC....

yep...i just tired....64mb card won't work...time to go back to the store to grab a 32mb...
i use Win2k and using RioPort Audio Manger 3.2, no problem at all, it was actually easier to get it to work than it was back when i used win98! just plug everything in and it reconize it right the way
