External Memory Problems

"No Flash Memory in the Device" message.

The Rio player recognizes the memory, and displays it
correctly in the LCD display, so I know it's there hardware-
wise.

I'm curious - what size, make of media card are you using? I tried adding a Kingston 64MB and got nothing. Apparently the PMP300 won't recognize 64MB. I'm now exchanging it for a 32MB and crossing my fingers. It's amazing how little information is available from Diamond or secondary sources on the memory limitation of this player.

TELL ME ABOUT IT!!! That piece o sh**T company diamand never mentioned a thing about this player not working with more the 32MB external memory!!! Now I wasted 35$ on an MP3 player and another 52$ on an external card.

I doubt anyone will ever bother with this. But...

I had the same problem. In the RIO memory manager, there is a green button which doesn't look like an option. It says "internal." Click it, and you should get "external." It's almost like having two MP3 players. They play in order though.

Weird.

I have exactly the same Problem !!!!!

I bought a Kingston 32 MB Smart Meida Card (SSFDC/32V)
When I power on the Rio, it displays 64 MB.
But unfortunatly it's not possible to upload any songs to the external memory.
I get the "No Flash Memory in the Device" message too.

Please HEEEEEEEEELP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

la pagina que nos presentan esta muy completa pero le entenderiamos mejor si hicieran una version en español pues gracias a mis pocos conocimientos de ingles es que les he entendido.

me gustaria que pusieran en linea una version freeware del reproductor de mp3 tambien en español pues la comunidad latina interesada en el formato musical que ustedes nos ofrecen.

RioShell (free download) is an outstanding NT driver for the PMP300. I've been using it for two years. German guy made it while Diamond people sat around with their thumbs up their butts.

RioShell, a free download you can find on the Web, is a great NT driver. A german guy made it while the folks at Diamond sat around with their thumbs up their "we're not going to make an NT driver" butts.
