Imusing the Music Match Software and it offers a download for the RIO 300 which I am using and it works fine.
I am suprised that someone here mentions that DREAMING OF BRAZIL the independant fix for Win 2000 and Rio 30 isnt working on XP, as XP is mostly 2000 anyway?
It worked beautifully for me with 2K, and the only reason I havent tried it with XP is that I also have a RCA Lyra MP3 player and they both use MUSIC MATCH now

Well, what is working for me is running the windows 98/ME version of Rioport (downloadable from www.rioport.com) in "compatibility mode" for Win98 with in Windows XP... also disabling the visual themes seems to help as well.
hope this helps some of you out there!

Well, How do you get Rioport 3.2? I could only find Rioport 1.1 for PMP300 (which is what I own). I tried compatibility mode for 98 and then 95, and neither worked. The program still seemed to know that I was not on a Win9x machine (currently on XP Home Ed.).

Rioport manager 3.2 works, just run setup in windows2000 compatibility mode.

I have four rio 300 and am very happy with them, but I am pissed about the lack of support for Windows XP. I tried rioport 3.2 and it doesn't work. Help Please. please email me if you have any suggestions

PLEASE someone help me! i tried the Dreaming of Brazil, rioexplorer, and rioport software for my pmp300 using windows xp, and NONE of them work? what is the problem with my player or computer? does anyone have any other software for the pmp300 and windows xp?

Try the RioPort Audio Manager **version 3.2**
That's the only thing i've found that works in Win2000 and now in WinXP.

Rio 300 128meg smart media
I just purchased a 128meg smart media for my Rio 300 and downloaded the

: i had the same problem and looked it up in the manual to find out that the maximum allowable memory card was 32 MB. I know that sucks but nothing i can do about it.

the pmp300 was built to only allow up to 32meg
external memory card.

Try dousing the PMP300 in Gasoline, that worked for me...

So far the thing has not worked at all for me. I have tried win 95,98,2000,nt and XP and nothing recognizes the pile of crap.

I have tried everything... Gasoline (and a match) sounds like the way to go. Diamond needs to make a firmware upgrade if possable

I'm looking into buying an MP3 Player, and I was wondering if this is a good one to get. I dont have much money nor do I have a USB on my comp. So, should I get this?

At 2000/me/xp the software DOSEN'T work (dough)

I just purchased it. I bought a 64MB smartmedia card for it and it won't register it. It's really cheap, but I don't recommend it.

Problem solved. I downloaded Dreaming of Rio and got into action ASAP. It's a great program and runs with XP.

Hello, I bought a PMP300 second hand too, but I don't have the paralell cable, somebody could give me the pinout, with a meter is easy just check the resistance between pines (from 1 to 15) in the diamond connector to paralell connector.

Does anyone have any idea what the pinout for the parrallel conection pinouts are on the pmp300? I've aquired one without the Parrallel adapter!

RealOne Player has software download, you can buy the cable from http://www.pcupgrader.co.uk./dept.asp?id=109
I think the price is a bit steep so i'm getting mine from ebay, you can also get the original software from rioport.com as far as I know, haven't been there in a while, if its for windows xp, then your best either dual booting a win98 system or finding the official parallel driver, I'm still looking for that though

It's happened to me once and that cost me $20 sucks!
Now I have two wire and one parallel donkey key.
either wire or donkey key cost you $20 at least.
If you live in States call Diamondmedia to place your order they don't let you order on line. I live in Thailand imagine that how long it took me manage to get one uh...
