Wav to cda
Hey!
I read your posting on the Share Ware Site, I am making a sound queue for the school's drama production. I have the quewe on my computer, and I have a CD burner, but the file is saved as a .wav file. If I burn this on my CD can it be read by a normal CD player? If not do you know of a program that could make the conversion?

Yes, you can do that. I dont know exaactly what settings
the cd burner has to be, but it should be done fairly easily
if you just play around with it. The burner should automatically
turn the wav into digital audio. I stress SHOULD because I am having
a problem with my toast settings and I dont know if its the fact that
I am trying to burn wav to cda on a mac or what.

Just getting started, What do I need!!!
I have done some 4-tracking but would like to get into recording
on my pc. I need to know where to start and what products I would
need to buy. I am looking for something with the same quality as an
adat. Please help!!

You'll find n-Track studio great for hard disc recording. It's cheap and the quality is pretty good. You can't go wrong with Cool Edit for creating and editing sound files.

1000 DJs' recommendations are sound. Try <a href="http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/programs/Cool_Edit_Win32/">Cool Edit</a> and <a href="http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/programs/n-Track_studio/">n-Track Studio</a> out if you want to dip your toes into hard disc recording.

Voyetra Sequencer Plus
Hello out there!
I have a very old version of the great program Voyetra Sequencer Plus - and there are many limitations in it.
Does anyone have a newer than 1991 full version of the program? Please let me know and email me the program - I know that there are many great musician guys out there, who are willing to help me with this...!

There is a newer version from Voyetra called Digital Orchestrator Pro and is better than older versions. You have some new things here (like wave and midi synchronization and other).
Audio/Midi Timing problems
Ive finally managed to put down an audio track to a
midi arrangement and everything works fine. The problem
is ive tried to do exactly the same thing with another
arrangement and the audio plays back out of sync.
Ive got cubase 3.5 running on a 233mhz pentium in windows
95 with a AWE64 card.
Also theres about a one second delay from input to output
on my audio so i cant monitor what im playing.
It seems strange that i can the midi and audio are in sync for
on arrangement but is way out for all my other arrangements
Can anyone help?

Can anyone out there tell me what kind of application can open files with a .mus extension. I am not familiar with music software, so if anyone has any leads, especially about any shareware/freeware might be available to open and play this type of file, I'd appreciate it. ---Thanks----

This is pretty bad, I'm afraid.
In addition to Sibelius, MusicTime and Finale, there is also an obscure notation program called SCORE that use .mus for it's file format.
These programs use completely different formats and cannot read each others files. It's only the file-name that is common.
To make things even worse:
Different versions of the thrown-together selection of badly designed program coding called Finale use different file formats (with the same name again), so you can't even be sure that you'r able to read Finale-files you've got from somebody else even if you do have the program!

Coda's Finale reads and writes MUS files. It's
the internal file format for this application.
If you would like to be shure, send me a file
and I can tell you if it's a Finale file.

Mr.Schollmeyer I want to open *.mus files in the game THPS3(Tony Hawks Pro Scater). I tried Finale Notepad but it didn't work. Please help me if you know!

Well, it seems that the *.mus files of THPS 3 are not real *.mus files. I found out that there eight files that you can rename to mp2 for making them work using e.g. Winamp. Though the quality isn't that great it's kinda useful I think. The eight files are:
ace.mus
antfarm.mus
gangsta.mus
pain.mus
ramones.mus
rev.mus
xzibit.mus
zebra.mus
If you find out what other files the 14 remaining files really are please tell me via ICQ or post it in here. MY ICQ-Nr. is: 161379372

.mus files are notation sheets for
Sibelius or MusicTime.
With these programs you can convert it
to MIDI or play them directly.
Maybe anyone other has a free-
or shareware prog to work with these files,
but I don't think of.
How do I get accompaniment tracks
I would like to be able to get the instrumental track of a song in digital format so that I can record the vocals on top and also run it through some sequencing software etc. Can any one tell me what I need to do this.

I can custom produce for you ANY song (hit or original) "exact" copy in any key. All formats available so you can sing and record it in your fafor sequencer (Logic Audio, Cubase etc...). A catalog with song titles available too.

Can you produce an accompaniment track of "Here in my Heart" by Plus One. I basically need it ASAP. I am supposed to sing it for a Homecoming Coronation. And I have looked everywhere for it. You are my last hope. I need to know cost, and when you think it can be delivered. Can you do it in the same key that is on the CD, and then a half step lower, and then a whole step from the original key. E-mail me for details and all. Thanks a lot.

Recycle experts opinion needed!!!!
I have the following problem using Steinnbergs recycle:
I want to load a beat into reecycle, let the program analise it and cut it into slices, and then create a midi file that corresponds to the rythm in this beat.
So that seems pretty easy: I go into "export groove midi file" and there ihave it. Now coming to the point: The midi file i just created allocates a different midi note to each one of the slices of my original beat. So say if i have 150 slices, i will end up with 150 difffrent midi notes, and I will actually run out of midi notes. For me the midi notes should not be different though, becasue all i am interested in is the rythm of the beat and not what notes they fall on. So the perfect result for me would be that all the slices in recycle will be the same midi note in the resulting midi file, as long as teh groove is unchanged. See, when i open up the resulting midi file in cubase i will get midi notes everywhere instead of nice and neat just on 1 note.
The reason i want to do all this is because i want to replace a recorded bass drum with a different one, so i have to create a midi map of it.
If this makes sense in the slightest to anyone at all I would be delighted.

If all that you want is just the feel from Midi file all that you have to do is use the match quantize function (Q) to match your beat to the feel of the Midi file.

Hi, I curently have windows 3.1 with Encore installed and I love using it with my keyboard to enter notes. I ould like to get a gvox system for my guitar. Will this work with my current setup of Encore with windows 3.1 ? thanks for your help.

GVOX don't support their GVOX guitar midi system anymore & I can't find any updated drivers to bring it into compatability with 98 let alone XP.

If anyone can help me please reply:
I am looking for a way to create/edit midi instrument files (.ins) and specify the patches in them. Also, I have a program that creates patches in .pat format. Is this the correct format?
I cannot figure out how to use the .ins files either.
PS. Can anyone figure out how to use Microsoft IDF edit or .idf fies?
