This will probably seem like a stupid question!!!

I've just got Cubase VST/24 and I can't figure out how to access the 3rd party VST and Direct X plugins that I've got on my system.

I've tried double clicking/righyt clicking/manual etc etc - can someone please give me step by step, idiot's guide!!!!

I can't get Wavelab to "see" my Traxdata CDRW 2260+, even though it's listed in the supported drivers list on the new CD drivers patch.

I'm STILL waiting for Steinberg to tell me why - can anybody else help in the interim???

i get the same error, and my drive is a supported drive, but i only get the error when reading a cd,it writes fine,your not the only one. do you have the drive first in the scsi chain? if they do give you a good answer please post it,,thnx

mic and turn them in files for use with a sequencer.
Is this possible? If so, what kind of software/hardware
do I need? A quick reply would really be appreciated.

Just need a 'mic in' on your soundcard, then record your sample with any standard recording software (ie soundrecorder would even do) to produce wave files. If you have a decent soundcard you will have whats called 'Sample Ram' on the card (ie AWE Gold, Maxi Sound etc), using this you can download the previously recorded samples into your cards RAM, and then acess those samples using a midi sequencer (ie cubase, cakewalk etc).

breaking large mp3s into little pieces

Does anyone know of a program that can break large mp3s into little pieces of a user-defined size? I don't mean the ones that split the file into smaller files of uniform size -- i want to be able to separate huge concert files into individual songs, so I need to be able to tell the program where to make each split. Any ideas?

Hey!

I am making a sound queue for the school's drama production. I have the quewe on my computer, and I have a CD burner, but the file is saved as a .wav file. If I burn this on my CD can it be read by a normal CD player? If not do you know of a program that could make the conversion?

Every better CDR-Software makes that:
1) WinonCD 3.6
2) Easy CD Creator Deluxe 3.5
3) CDRwin
4) NTI CD Maker Pro

Unfortunately not all CDR drives
comes with such a software.

You can use Fast Tracker ver. 2.08.
It can save MOD to WAV file.

Voice Vocoder Programs

You Know the sort of thing. Make a single voice sound like many and a pitch controller so you never sound out of tune.
Of course all real time. Just like the machine.

Any help in directing me to such a program will be most appreciated.

Hi Chris

I thought I'd answer this one here as there are bound to be a few people with this question. For drum beats, you could always use <a href="http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/programs/HammerHead_Rhythm_Station/">Hammerhead</a>. It will let you import your own samples. Then there's <a href="http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/programs/FruityLoops_win95/">Fruityloops</a> which is a popular program as well.

http://platinumvibe.com/. They have a article on
B.Box software drum machine made by Steinberg. I
read it an found it very helpfull. They also
sell a sample CD that works with
all the software drum machines. Hope this helps.

If you download the newest version of nero burning rom you can drag and drop mp3s right on to audio cds. It works a lot better than converting mp3s to wav files, and you don't need hundreds of megabytes of hard drive space just make a cd

I have a GR-30 hooked up to a roland SC-d70. I have had very poor results. The SC-d70 works great. I have tried it with keyboards and sequencers hooked up and its fantastic ! But when I hook up my GR-30 guitar synth to it , I get garbage. The GR-30 is sending trash out of the midi out plug. notes are out of tune. Notes dont trigger. notes trigger a half tone lower than what I played every two or three notes.notes trigger late.

I have tried it in normal mode , Local control off mode,local off poly recieve mode nothing seems to work !

The GR-30 cant be used to record accurate MIDI !!!!
As a stand alone unit it works well, but mine is sending garbage midi. I'm very disapointed. I spent all my money on this and I still cant record MIDI into a sequencer ! Roland's support line does not answer questions.

CD-R stand alone vs. internal / mac vs. pc

I have my dead bootleg collection on tape and want to convert it to cd media. I would also like to make copies of some of my copied bootlegs from cd-r to cd-r, for my friends.
I have a power mac and a pentiumII PC 266MHz.
Does anyone have advice on which CD-R burner I should purchase.
Would I get better results or have an easier time or spend less money using my Mac or my PC?
Should I just get a stand alone burner and hook it up to my stereo deck or shuould I use the computer interface?
I would truly appreciate anyone's input and tutellage.

wav to cda using toast

Ok, I've read posts that you can use toast to automatically
burn wav into cda (to be played in a cd player). Can somebody tell
me what settings you need or how the process goes.

el nero te sirve... automaticamente te los pasa a aformato cd para escuchar en cd player
