I have written to total recorder twice asking for bonehead instructions but have not heard back. I would greatly appreciate it if someone would either tell me or direct me to a site that even a newbie could understand. I intend to use it to record and send voice messages to foreign pen pals, so what I need to know is what I do to set it up in such a way that the files are as small as possible and are as long as possible. Sound quality is secondary. Thanks ahead of time for any help!

However, I want to use Music Match (MM)to get the song from .wav to .mp3 format. When I go to the add
song on MM to where my songs are, the folder I have them in shows up blank. I can go to Total Recorder folder
& find the songs I have recorded but unable to get them to my MM library for converting to .mp3
By the way, am using the MM radio section to record.
Any ideas??

if it's on your hard drive when you compressed it you must of scrwed up the file try to uncompress the file and send it threw email cause a wav file which is your bands music will not fit on a 3 and 1/2 floppy a if you did that and you can't compress music files it njust doesn't work ok if that doesn't work email me and i'll help you if i can or if you have icq or msn i can help you that way too ok bye

Easy. Connect your minidisc headphone output to your soundcard line-input. (Cheapo 3.5mm cable will do the job.)

Get hold of GoldWave (www.goldwave.com) to handle the recording side.

Nero Burning Rom (www.nero.de) is great for burning the finished product.

There is a digital method too, but it involves:

A: An expensive soundcard.
B: An expensive Minidisc player.
C: Expensive cables.

Not worth the bother! :-)

I think you can connect from your line out on the MD to the line in on your sound card but there has to be a better way. When I tried with the media player and a jukebox player I couldn't do it with my digital converter. If you find a better way please tell me. I need it for some linguistic work. Thanks

Eric I could have been the one writing your ? I am trying to do the same thing and have the same equipment and software asyou I thought maybe you could record directly from line out of md to line in of sound card I followed all musicmaths instructions and it comes up like its recording but it doesnt burn on disc did you have any luck? hope to hear from you Scott
