Use the Winamp, free software you can find at www.winamp.com.
Download the real audio plug-in (perform a search using "ram" as keyword).
Now follow instructions found in FAQs,"How do I decode to .WAV using Winamp?" and you will have your wav or MP3 or WMA file.

OBS. To findpreferences just point your mouse over the winamp skin and right click.

There is no such software that I know of but only thing what matters is the bitrate........the conversion is possiblle.....all you need is a software called totale recorder......play the song on the real player, simultaneously recording on total recorder.....then use any software to convert the bitrate or enhance the sound quality such as sound forge....and convert the so recorded wave file from Total recorder into mp3...format....but believe me the qulity is not that good...

Winamp has a plug in that will play real. If you set the output to diskwriter it will convert it to wav as it plays it

Go to control panel, add/remove programs, Windows Setup, Multimedia, Details, and check to see if Sound Recorder is checked. If not, check it and click OK and then Apply. If it is, uncheck it, click OK and Apply, then go back in, check it again and re-Apply.

I think you 'll have to use an audio editor to accomplish that. You can find one in almost any video editing pack or even sold seperately. Sample duration only depends on quality and harddrive space. Even recordings of up to several hours are possible, from any source!

wave to cda

I mix musics and record my own band music and save them as wave files. How can I convert them to Cd audio format (cda) and let my friends listen to it on their cd player?

I don't know if it is possible, but I bought a program that promise it would do it, but it didn't. It needed a scsi cd writer. I have an IDE cd writer.

Please email me with suggestions.

Adaptec CD writer will convert wav to cda, when you tell it to burn an audio CD, select your wav files, when it asks you if you want to close the session or leave it open, you must close the session at the end of your burn. When your cd is complete, the files will be in cda format. You can then play it on any cd player.

On linux there a shareware software called CDStatus
it can convert CDA files to wave. On windows there are lots of software like FastRip/RealPlayer which can read CDA files into wave.

THIS IS HOW:
================
It is very easy. You should have a software that records wav files, like soundblaster software or any other software. Connect the cassette recorder "phones" to the soundblaster as "line in".To hear what goes to the computer connect the line out from the soundblaster to "line in" in the cassette recorder ( i use Panasonic, RX-FS470) and it is not expensive.

There's tons of ways to do it. Any multitracker
like Cakewalk, ProTracks, Ntracks (free) can
convert signals from cassette decks, cd players,
stereos or any other music device. Just run your
music source into your soundcard and record
using Cakewalk, etc. They all save as wav's and
some even save as mp3's which save hard disk
space. Any more questions let me know!
