select 'create new audio cd' when you start to burn the cd at cd burner software and select your wav file. each wav or mp3 will be a cd track.

Shut up, so many fucking posts saying "pro-tools is shit, a good engineer can work with anything". Then work with the limitations that Protools may or may not present and be creative for once in your sad, industry standard lives.

Listen, everyone relates their own experience in their own way - fair enough; you may have a negative opinion of Pro Tools - you must speak as you find, but Pro Tools IS the standard in the industry of recording sound for music purposes. A full Pro Tools set-up will cost i.r.o. £15,000.00 just for starters, this is freeware - a cut down sample. The creators of pro tools aren't aiming for the home recording market in any big way because they have the professional market entirely sewn up and in the bag. This is a gift.
Personally I prefer to record in analogue. I use digital on a daily basis as I'm doing a very advanced three year course on the subject, but digital solutions are around for one purpose only - to save very costly studio time.
The download may be shite but the Pro Tools sysytem is not. Go into any high end recording facility and they'll be using Pro Tools.
A bad workman blames his Pro Tools and don't look a gift horse in the mouth. This is genuinely a rare opportunity to get a taste for the system. Treat it as a gift so why not exercise a little gratitude at least?

La-de-da 15,000 pounds for pro tools is your head up your A$$ where the hell is anyone in the home digital recording game going to get that sort of money.I use a roland u8 16 bit cubasis and i will still get the same results from running pro tools on that platform so how can you say its a gift you wont even know the difference in quality if you cant use the 24 bit platform.A real gift would be a drop in the extravagent price tags on these items then maybe some real musicians can get a go instead of just the few like you who are lucky enough to have the gear avaliable.

Protools does not suck, i noticed that anyone that is an engineer loves protools, but anyone else hates it because it's too professional and it doesn't do all the work for u. get real people, protools is great, at leasts it sorts the dumb fucks out from the rest of us!

sorry bout the last try It was not my post but I build studio own many different software have used pro tools yes even the real studios crash it is the nature of beast so relax I also build the computers for said for those still stuck with old opereting systems I feel sorry for your lack of seeing the light I think pro tools free is great you can see what all the hopla is all about IF YOUR SYSTEM CAN HANDLE IT I have been a recording eng. since 1979I am sol glad to get totaly away from tape I am selling my last adat yea so if you want to try it before you buy it do so but complaining about the software means you have hardware issues not softwareI own cake walk,cubase,logic,cooledit,vegas audio,and now vegas video 3.0 and for ease of use and awesome sound I have stayed with vegas it so easy dont have to be an eng to work this soft ware but it helps when you mix

It seems to me that if a company is giving away popular and expensive software for free and if a lot of people are having trouble with their computer crashing, maybe just maybe they're testing to see how big the demand, and how their program performs on peoples computers. I really doubt that a company would out of the kindness of their heart just give away free stuff.

Man, you're right, i got totally pissed and wrote that drooling crap in a fit of compassionate, beer goggled shit spouting. I have removed Pro Tools, it crashed more times than an 18 year old borrowing Daddies car. While i admit i missed that point, i still think there are those who miss the point when it comes to making music and think that a popular, over-priced piece of software (ok, Pro Tools free is free - hence the name, let's not get picky) is going to make their music gloriously listenable. If the music is genuinely good, a microphone through a shitty tapedeck will still carry that creativity. Or is that just more senseless shite?

in my humble opinion things can be set to a few words : pro tools is good, but it's not the best and not the only one package available. it has become a standard? blame it on who helped it, don't help it yourself. check out cubase, nuendo, cakewalk sonar, vegas, logic audio, etc., and decide.
i have pro tools free but only to learn it in case I eventually need to use it in studios or likewise. but i'd never really record anything with it. my choice is STEINBERG software... cubase vst and nuendo. you'll never find VST instruments in pro tools.

2-inch 24-track is still the only way to track... nuendo works much much better for mixdown and automation than bro tools!

No additional hardware, but is it any good? I'm not after the worlds greatest home set-up but i want to record 16 tracks, some stereo for drums and/or synths. I'm not fussed for midi. Is this download worth it as an indicator for the proper version on Zzounds webpage? Any advice appreciated. Loads of people said its impossible to download the program, I don't want to waste my time or monoey if its shite.....

You ask if this d/l is worth it, Mr Optimist... just reading all these posts here is enough to make me think "No Way!!!". I don't know about you, but reading all these negative comments sure as hell scared me away from this ProToolsFree program. I'd say the smart money is to leave it alone, don't you agree?

It is only 16 bit max - not pro-standard
Pro tools free (5.0.1 r2) is promoted as the free version of the super-professional ProTools products.
But its maximum bit rate is only 16bits, while industry standard is now 24 or even 32 bits in some setups. In short the sound quality is inferior.
It is true that Pro Tools Free does offer you the option of recording in 24 bit each time you start a new session. But this is misleading: the drivers that is uses (MME in Windows and SoundManager in Mac) cannot exceed 16 bits. Its deceptive (think trade practices laws here)
The other gimmick is that the effects that are bundled with Pro Tools Free (eg reverb, flange, etc) are demos that expire after a month.

I want to download a multitrack recording software from the net. I could be either cracked or not. Any hints on what to get and where to get it? Any info is welcome.
Do you think that pro tools free would do the job.

Pro-Tools Plug-ins
Hi, I'm interested in some Pro-Tools plug-ins but to run on PC. As you should know it's very hard to find friends which run Pro-Tools on PC so I have no chance to find those particular Plug-ins.
It would be great if they are cracked bacuse they are too expensive for my budget right now. If there is a place online where I can find them and download them, please, let me know.

I recently bought a Mac G4. I do not find any free soft to put on it and learn some sequencing and MIDI. The Digidesign discontinued to give the Pro Tools Free version. Can you help me with it? From where could I download it?
