DAE 1113 Error
When I open up pro tools, I get a message that says DAE 1113 Error and when I press ok it closes the program by itself. How do I fix this problem so I can use the program?

I guess you're using Win XP or 2000 or something like that. It only works witch win 98 or win ME
Effects stop working?
Out of nowhere my effects on pro tools stopped working, they act like they are processing but do not. The inserts still work though. Anyone know how to fix this?

I really don't know what you people expect when you download protools free. I think most of you expect to become a recording god once you use this powerful software. All of you fools try to use it on your crappy computers that you've bought from dell, HP and such. Pro tools is the most powerful recording program out there. Pro tools free is a sample program for people looking to buy the full blown systems; it is so they can experiment and learn; not for people looking to produce full albums 2 tracks at a time.
I'm also sick of those people trading plugins on the net. I pay good money for my plugins and am proud of it. The way I look at it is like ‘going into a recording studio and stealing a whole rack of gear’. If some fucking punk came in and took my 1176 I'd hunt them down and shove a boot up their ass.
People, please leave the recording to the recording engineers. Pay them money to do your work; let them record using the TDM systems they've bought. Don't use PT Free if you are just learning. Fuck off and leave it to the big boys

I found Ptools rather testy and poorly 'constructed' when compaired tp Logic

I hope that, in the future, you will gain the humilty to realise that, even now, you are learning.

Urei 1176's aren't that bad a comp but there's far better out there. i don't reckon a real engineer would care that much about pro tool demos for free. Real engineer use decent gear like ssl's or neve's, and studer's or sony/mci's to achieve quality recording not wank digital pish.

Apparently this guy has a lost future. I have worked in the music industry as a musician and recording engineer for nearly thirty years and have no clue as to what is his 1176?
Maybe the success I have had has been a waste of his time. The majority of music I have worked on has been built one or two tracks at a time. And since it was a waste of his time they came to me for help.
Maybe this guy works with a 11-7-6 console that was cutting edge circa 1944. The one with the black and white picture tube that was as big as a desk, and created enough heat to warm the average living room and measured 11'x7'x6'.
Or maybe he has the new 1176 console built by Der Shtink Heimers in germany. The console that nothing good comes out of except makes payroll for the employee when one sells.
Or maybe he is using Mackie Mixer (formerly known as tapco) serial number 1176.
Or maybe this guy is just lonely, has no friends, and everyone in the music world thinks he is a bitter ass-hole and would not give him the time of day, much less thier mix.
Now I really feel sorry for him. I guess I need to tell everyone I have ever worked with to go spend gobbs of money on stuff they will never take time to learn how to work, but convince them it was the right thing to spend $10,000 for something you will not use more than 3 times. Just like he has.
I have recently heard some awesome mixes created on totally free linux based software, with free plug ins. I found this BB looking for the software. To all who read, IT IS NOT WHAT IS SPENT THAT MAKES THE MUSIC. It is what comes out of the artist that makes the music. Engineers help the artist polish it. If all he gets is shit to work with, there is a good reason for it.

Sounds like someone has been practicing their Pro-Wrestling Monologues in front of their mirror a little too often in recent weeks. But gee, i took your advice and DIDN't go get the ProTools Free. Like youz said Hoss, "i'll leave it to the Big Boys", an i reckon i don't have room fer another boot up my ass. I went out and just dropped 3000.00 on anything that was ProTools AND didn't have the term "free", or even "inexpensive" for that matter, written on the product. Boy the salesman told me that if i'm learning i should try ProTools Free, but after consulting your eliquently stated post he then understood that it would be pointless for any who was LEARNING to waste their time on a free fully functional software app when they can blow wads of cash on something they might not even be tinkering with in a week. It's excellent positive feedback like yours that is gonna "spur" people on "hoss" into the world of music. It can't be easy, i mean take yourself for example, i didn't catch how long you've been engineering, but judging by your demeanor, it's been awhile, and from the tone of your post, i surmise maybe your the sound engineer for the tape deck in the dish area of that Hooter's in Utah below Snowbird. If something is FREE and you have an interest in learning about the FREE information and or technology, then it is a FREE opportunity to enhance you personal and professional development. However I can sypathize with the feeling of having spent a great deal of cash to be educated in a particular trade or craft, but if GIVEN a complete studio or rack of equipment to learn and possibly fullfill a dream then shithead the Idiot is the one that doesn't take it. And if by chance your are resourceful enough to make a complete album two tracks at a time, without the assistance of the afore mentioned non-vaselined, over educated, unemployed (unknown)engineer, and you sell two copies at 10.00 a piece then your are a professional and should be applauded. Something this jerk doesn't understand is the basic business priciple of "cost jusitification" if you aren't making money on an investment why invest., When it becomes justified you buy the needed tools with all expedience and register them accordingly. BLAH BLAH BLAH! I have been a recording engineer for 25 years and I am all for people getting their heads round systems by using free systems like this.
In fact, I have been presented with some amazing tracks done on systems which have less than half the functionality of this one - Think of all the tracks done in the sixties direct to tape mono - no multitrack, bugger all effects, but some solid, well thought out production.
I find your stupid comments unbelievable for someone who seems to claim to be a Sound Engineer - we never talk like that unless very drunk, and tend to be very tollerant of what people are trying to do - it is what makes us survive!
Go on, anyone who wants to get their head round digtally recorded music, go get this program. It will give you a good start, and may start you on a career that allows you to use or buy the top end kit - but you have to start somehwere!
