Neo Access Error when saving to the 400GB SATA.

Strangely enough, it's fine when saving to the desktop instead.

I am in the process of trying these fixes tonight. I have a G4 running Pro Tools 6.4.1 TDM and kept getting a NEO-Acces error when recording audio or trying to save the session. The audio would end up in a corrupted file in the audio folder (but not show up in the audio bin). It also would not import back into Pro Tools...so essentially the take was unusable. The MIDI tracks would record and play back fine however.

Both of these "Neo" errors that I get are occuring whenever Pro Tools is trying to access a hard drive. I think the issue is with the drives being "journaled" or not. That is why you are able to save to the desktop (OS X.3.9 formatted journaled) but not the audio drive which has standard formatting (just extended). You can enable "journaling" for each drive in your system by using the DISK UTILTY App. I am trying this as I write this. Have a hunch that it will fix the problem. Digidesign lists this in the trouble-shooting forum listed above.

I have it too <i've tryed a whole new reload of O/S and still happening ... no answers .. tryed 6.4TDM and 6.7 using a G5 2GB ram 2Ghz

I've read it's because of a bug in protools trying to deal with machines that have more than 2gb of ram. I don't have that much ram so I believe there is another reason. Someone please help!!!

My system bogs down with this message, "The operating system held off interrupts for too long. If this occurs often , try increasing the 'H/W Buffer Size' in the Hardware Setup Panel. (9092)" The Buffer Size setting is maxed at 8192 samples. This is keeping me from bouncing my tracks and ultimately getting them onto disk. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
