Mic Delay with ProTools

I have a severe delay when recording with a mic. I have a digi001, protools 5.3.1 and a P4 1.8ghz system with 512RAM - I also increased the buffer to 2gig. Anyone know why there is this delay/how to fix the problem?

I looked through the log of questions but didn't see any good answers to the problem.

How did you fix it? I have the same problem on Pro Tools.

like waves

gold rtas

It's excellent and it works! 4 stereo or mono tracks, mix down, then import wave mix and add more. Plus midi...nice, easy, free, and it works. Pro toolz SUX! Arrogant overpriced prissy ass basterds!

I have been using SONAR 1 (with updates) for well over a year now on my XP-based PC and it works very, very well. I highly recommend it.

I USE COOL EDIT PRO 2.0 AND FIND IT TO BE THE
THE EASYES TO USE. I TRYED SONAR,ACID,CAKEWALK
NUENDO,SAMPLITUDE,VAGAS,SOUND FORGE,AND MANY OTHERS
BUT NOTHING IS BETTER OR EASYER THE CEP 2.0

i have a regular computer just working on soundforge and cool edit pro 2.0 for my work, oh and making instrumentals on fruity loops. well I have heard that pro tools is the way to go but i dont wanna go the wrong way so can you please tell me whats the best one to use and why? cool edit pro 2.0 or pro tools? o yeah and whats xp im kinda dumb i just laptop and pc. thanx

I am trying since a couple of weeks to download protools... well downloading is not a problem, but THE FUCKING COMPRESSED ARCHIVE DOESN'T expand!! I got all the latest versions of stuffit but it seems it will not work.... I am a Mac user. Anyone has an advice?? Love u all

Just download SP1 Express...but the problem is still not fixed...the reason? you need to some how convince the computer that you are using a Windows 98 WaveDriver

I run Pro Tools Free on an over clocked Celeron (366mhz running at 522mhz) w/ 256 mb of ram, standard OE soundcard (what ever pile o crap that may be) and 8 meg video with a 7200rpm, 20 gig hard drive and it works just fine! I've using it for two years and rarely does it crash. My advicec to all of you is kill any and all unnecessary programs that may be running before you use it. Hit Cntl / Alt / Delete to bring them up.

win xp and install error?

first off, is it possible to get a stable working copy of pro tools under the win xp shell( maybe using the compatibility option?) and secondly i have tried to install the 10MB free tools, and i keep getting a component transfer error from the program files, in the file group for documentation at 17% of complete installation. wondering if this is due to xp win, or maybe the .pf file compression of pro tools which my comp is having problems extracting.
