Software Description
Impulse Tracker is a revolutionary new music tracker under development in South Australia by Jeffrey Lim (Pulse/PoP). It is quite similar to the popular Scream Tracker by Future Crew, and is therefore quite easy to learn. Features:
- MOD, MTM, S3M and IT compatibility.
- Supports the following sound devices:

- Sound Blaster 16
- Sound Blaster AWE 32
- Gravis UltraSound
- Pro Audio Spectrum
- Pro Audio Spectrum 16
- Interwave
- PC Speaker
- DAC on LPT
- Easy to-use, familiar Scream Tracker 3 style interface.
- Direct control over 64 channels.
- Maximum of 256 internal channels for greater sound quality, using NNAs (New Note Actions); Full panning (on SBPro, SB16 and GUS).
- Stereo Surround (on SBPro and SB16).
- Variable pattern lengths.
- Full block functions available (across-channel also!)
- Volume envelopes.
- Ping Pong loops and sustain loops for samples.
- Global volumes for channels and samples.
- Templates.
- Now with S3M saver, instrument I/O, and extra panning controls in the volume column!
- As of version 1.04, support for 16 bit samples, and samples greater than 64k!
- As of version 2.0, added panning and pitch envelopes.

You cant finds it, man. It's like, at an alpha stage, not ready for release. So you gotta be like waiting for longer, or maybe until the next ice age.
Impulse Tracker 3 doesn't sound like Buzz. Least I hope it ain't like that unusable crap.

Soft under win95 much more sucks in speed and quality. sorry goes to buzz fans but its true:
Buzz is the best music makeing soft under win95
bu Impulsetracker is way better in quality, speed, stability...
realy i hate buzz, as it suck the way.

problem with awe32 driver

i have the awe32 and i cant get the it to load with this sound card i tryed every thing please help.

Hi both of you....
There should be no problems getting impulse to work with the SB32 card
i use to have one and it worked flawlessly....
It is most likly the setting in windows 95 or the amound of free memory to load
the drivers.
Try to make a new shortcut on the desktop of windows 95 and point it to
the dosprmpt.pif in the windows directory then you will have
to modify the setting of the shortcut... make sure that you set the
XMS memory to 16384 as well as the protected memory... also take of the
screesaver option and make it full screen.. also make sure that you dont
have EMM386 loaded in the config.sys... you dont need it....
You can also try to download the latest AWE32 drivers on the creative website...
they are posted.....

Easy. Download ModPlug Player from http://www.modplug.com and it'll play IT files no problem - there is an option to save them as WAV files. It the best quality output I've heard.

Euhm, Sorry I'm not sure about the Diskwriter option in Impulse tracker,, I think if you can get that driver to work, it will will automaticly write a WAV file to youre disk,, (I've never tried it out, so I want to know if there's annyone who's got more info about the "DiskWriter" euhm,, that's the ITWAV.DRV i think,,
I already tried to record a song with a wav recorder in windows,, bat that doesn't seem to work,, (Dang!) ...

it's pretty easy, just run it with the command "it s20" or "it sITWAV.DRV" to use the wave writer driver.
you can press shift-f5 to set the output directory (if you happen to have the stereo version there are some more options, but you'll have to register -$30- to get it).
now, when you press f5 it starts to play into a wave file ([title].WAV). you can also write a single pattern to disk by pressing f6 in pattern view (writes to [title].[pattern]).
if you notice that the "clipped" counter starts running like hell, this means that the output wave file is having some distortion (which is something you probably don't want to happen). if this is the case, hit f12 and lower the "Mixing Volume". you'll want to keep the number of Clips under 200 or so, which means you may have to set the Mixing Volume to a value as low as 16 or even 12 if you are using a lot of channels and/or loud samples.

let me ask something first. Do you like using IT?
Fot the things it can do it's great, and yet it's
free. If you send a token of your thanks (better
yet a donation to Mr. Jeffrey Lim, the maker of IT)
I'm sure he'll send you all the stuff you need
to get going. that's all you need to do.

You play your sound on one computer with winamp
and with the other you record it (by plugging

Exporting .IT files? Sync to time code?
I have a couple of IT files that I would like to export to another MIDI sequencer,
and I would like to be able to sync it up to SMPTE time code from an adat machine.
Any ideas?

Whenever I try to play IT files on WinAMP, it's just a

Try the 2.0 Version of WinAMP (www.winamp.com)
(I've tried some of mine and IT worked)

probably, you are using the relatively new compressed 2.14 version it files...
save them as 2.13 version files and it'll play fine i believe.

Impulse Tracker extends past 64 note places
One of the things that I really like about Impulse Tracker is that the composer can extend the patterns beyond the limit of 64 note places that other tracker pgms are limited to. I found out last night about the instrument section (F4), and was amazed at what can be done with the instruments. IT is my tracker of choice.

Uhmm... I might be wrong on this... but zip is a file packing format.
Get WinZip or pkunzip or something to unzip it.
