Software Description

CloneCD is the perfect tool to make backup copies of your music and data CDs, regardless of copy protection. CloneCD's award-winning user interface allows you to copy almost any CD in just a few mouse clicks.

Since the release of 5.0, CloneCD is not only able to copy CDs but also most DVD formats, such as DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD+R, DVD+RW, DVD+R Dual Layer and DVD-RAM. The movies are copied 1:1 and therefore not modified (compressed). Note that to copy movie DVDs you also require AnyDVD.

Pendragon I was wondering if you could post some new settings for the latest version of clonecd. Im having all kind of problems.....dont know why....but i am. I can't seem to get a cd to copy right. The old version I had with the settings you had posted worked great. Now that I have upgraded to this new version I don't know what my settings should be. Please update these. Thanks

The program I use is called Cdex.
Got to my CD-HelpSite (link below) and click on the 'Mp3-CD' button.
Here you'll find all the details and a direct download for Cdex (1.28mb).
It's worth it - and it's dead easy to use.

Just as an addition to my last message,
Cdex will convert for you, all or just some of the tracks on an inserted CD to Mp3 format.
Then, all you have to do is create a playlist within your Mp3 player.
The beauty of this program is - as I said - the ability to just convert certain tracks from a CD. Therefore, you can create compilations of your favourite CD's and have them playing as-and-when you want.

Hi,

Pendragon I recently downloaded a copy of of clonecd. only to find that i cannot make a backup of my game cd that i need to use for network gaming.

The help page states that the 8100i did not support the RAW-DAO96 but only SAO.
Am I completely out of luck with this program or any program to copy CD's or is there a program out there that will copy these?

Repairing damaged Mp3s

I have recently downloaded alot of mp3. When I try to burn them using the latest version of Nero burn, I get an error saying mp3 seems to be damaged. Is there anything I can do to repair these damaged mp3s? Thanks for the help

As far as repairing Mp3's go, the answer is basically NO.
Simply - find a site that you can rely on.
As you can appreciate, there are people all over the world who are converting and compressing music files to mp3. Unfortunately there's no 'Industry Standard' so we get a mixture of formats and bit-rates and quality.
As for this, there may be some Mp3's created on a mac system with different formatting - or the same file may be inferior quality on your Windows system and may not be writable to CD.
I hope this sheds some light on the issue.

It can actually be pretty complicated, for one thing, you cant just put a dreamcast game in the cd burner and copy it, this is because the dreamcast uses GD-roms, which are more compact than CD-roms, so the burner cant read it.

It is possible just to find a copy of the game on the internet and burn it, they are usually called iso's or bin's.

Or if you want to just copy (also called backup) your games you need an adapter to connect the serial on the dc (its by the video adapter) to a computer so you can have the dc read the game and send the info to your computer to be burned. The adapter is called a "PC Serial Adapter" and you can make one at http://mc.pp.se/dc/serifc.html or you can just buy one... for a usually hefty price.

Sorry if i gave you too much info but I hate it when someone answers my questions and i have no clue what the said.

Yep, it's called Cool Edit.
It's available from www.syntrillium.com and as a basic package it's excellent.
There are plug-ins you'll need to download such as hiss and pop reduction or I can send you a registered copy of 'Click Fix' for Cool Edit if you email me.

Hi Deb,
The safest way to remove programs is to go to Start->Settings->Control Panel->Add/Remove and sellect which program you want to "uninstall" it will remove all the files even the hidden files ;-), dont just delete files, some programs have associated files on the other directories.
Since you did was manual deletion it will give you a thorough problem, here is the last option you have, copy all the files you want to remove to a clean floppy disk and format the floppy disk, in this way the program will not be loaded again but of course there might other programs that associated with it that still left on you HD.

If you are looking for another burner that supports RAW DAO, RAW SAO etc, try Creative 12X10X32, I recommend this becuase of this review, goto CDRWCENTRAL and you can see other reviews as well, hope this will help.

Hi viprat,
I have a CD-RW8432E cdrw and it appears on my computer as a CD-RW8433. So on updating the firmware it is not detected as in your case. When I reinstall the driver it want's Win 98 cd to look for the .inf file, so all I can think of is Win98 drivers are to old??? Maybe pull apart Win me and see if I can find an newer .inf file and see what happens.
