Software Description
CloneCD is the perfect tool to make backup copies of your music and data CDs, regardless of copy protection. CloneCD's award-winning user interface allows you to copy almost any CD in just a few mouse clicks.
Since the release of 5.0, CloneCD is not only able to copy CDs but also most DVD formats, such as DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD+R, DVD+RW, DVD+R Dual Layer and DVD-RAM. The movies are copied 1:1 and therefore not modified (compressed). Note that to copy movie DVDs you also require AnyDVD.
CloneCD also works with other formats such as ISO and UDF files and copies CDs/DVDs with the new SafeDisc 3 Copy Protection System. : sounds like your trying to make a backup of a pc game.let the read errors go clone cd will deal with them. start clone cd,goto help ,look up requirements it tells you that sd-r1002 writes sao and reads sub channel data and audio at raw+96.session at once is the worst writing setting but thats all the sd-r1002 supports.so you will need a better writer (ricoh mp 7163a(atapi)writer)the reading part of the sd-r1002 is the best supported mode. so use the toshiba for reading discs and the ricoh for writing them.the read errors are the protection on the cd they usually start at sector 0 and go up to 10003 then clone cd will read rest of disc.clone cd will duplicate the read errors on the begining of the cd in the writing process this is vital for the cd to work. search internet for copy protection of cds search (CLONYXL,COPY PROTECTION UTILITIES)
the cd your trying to back up sounds like a safe disc or safe disc 2 the read errors are normal protection on these cds.use sd-r1002 to read with fast error skips box checked, go to fast error setting at the bottom set to 3 tries ,error correction to none. write with a writer that supports raw dao.write at 4speed with these settings burn proof or just link box checked if supported by writer and check the amplify weak sector box and close last session box.

Hi, Im trying to run Clonecd 3.1.1.0 with an A7A266 motherboard , Ricoh 7163A(16X10X32X) , DVD Pionner Slot in, and Default Bus Master Ide Drivers. When I run Clone my computer hang when clone start analisis of SCSI/IDE ... WHY THIS OCCURS???!!!! Somebody Help me???? I tried with the latest driver of everything IDE/AGPpatch/... but nothing solve my problem. Thanks.

because it's a clone but also because your computer is not strong enough! mine starts hanging up right away and the manager told me this... also u need a flooding tube screen, or so he told me

Won't run automatically
I have a lite on burner and am using nero. I have tried to burn a copy of jane's USAF, everything seems to copy but the auto run, when I put the cd in the drive the USAF screen comes up then a message saying not reading drive install proper cd. I have installed the game, but need disk one to play can you help me please.

CloneCd 3.1.1.0 - Win XP - Plex 16/10A
I cant use CloneCD in this configuration, when I try to write a CD (the image is ok) I obtain an error immediatly, then the blank CD is not damaged ... the error is:
"Writing on Plextor etc failed"
Any help is appreciated

I use CDRWIN to copy CDG discs. As far as I know, nothing else works. Go to goldenhawk.co to find the info on burning Karaoke discs. You will require certain burners and/or readers and certain brand name blank discs.

clonecd aborts during copy of dance ejay 3
I have bought Dance Ejay 3 and Groove Ejay . As my son will use them, I would like to make a copy of these 2 CD. I used CloneCD 3.0.8.1 and it worked ok for Groove, but not for Dance.
If you look at Dance CD data face, you can see a circle like some non burned tracks . CloneCD can make the copy untill he reaches this area and then it aborts.
It is not a problem specific to clonecd because Easy cd creator and Nero abort too.
If you know what to do to copy this #$@% dance Ejay 3 ... don't hesitate

I've looked around on the Internet regarding this software, and it does look like a scam. I've come across a lot of people who have sent in their $15 and received nothing. Some even claim to have received a virus, but I don't know if that's true or not. I personally wouldn't attempt to buy this software.
The site itself is hosted on free web host accounts and the email contacts are to webmail accounts like hotmail.com. The place he askes you to send the money is a P.O. box. All this sounds very shady.
On top of this he makes the claim that ROM Ripper can rip Dreamcast images using a normal CD-ROM. This is impossible. The Dreamcast uses a disk format called GD-ROM which stores approx. 1 GB of data. The high-density region cannot be read by CD-ROMs. This is why real Dreamcast backups are made with a serial connection between the DC and a computer.

can someone please tell me what is wrong with my clone cd, this error keeps coming up is it something to do with "reading tracks (blocks 0-335411)" it is giving me the shits

The "reading tracks..." part is CloneCd telling you which sectors of the CD it is reading from. As for "Failed to read sector 840, 841..." this is CloneCD telling you that the sectors are Corrupted. This is more than likely Copy protection such as Safedisk 1 or 2, and if so make sure that you are reading and burning with DAO RAW and reading sub channel data. If this is not supported then try using a program like Insektors, Daemon Tools, or Unsafedisk. If you want these, then search www.google.com for that name, except Unsafedisk, as I am unsure about the name, if you want to use that then go to www.gamecopyworld.com, and find the part about copy protection.

CloneCD (3.0.8.2) doesn't find my burner (IDE - Liteon 16x) under win2k. With win9x it works fine. what can i do???

Re-Install Windows 98se if you have it.
It's the best, most stable version of Windows that there is.

What the hell kind of solution is that?
You will need to install the new ASPI Layer in order to burn properly in Win2k. It can be installed by installing Nero 5.X or Adaptec.
As for the quote "It's the best, most stable version of Windows that there is". That is the biggest blurb of unresearched commenting. Windows 2000 is not perfect, but as compared to Windows98 it's rock solid. It's no Linux, but it sure beats the heck out of Win98.
My two cents.

WINDOWS 95 FAT32 & WINDOWS 98 SE, ARE THE MOST STABLE VERSIONS OF WINDOWS AT PRESENT.
MICROSOFT RELEASED THE OTHER VERSIONS OF WINDOWS TO EARLY SO THEY ARE FULL OF BUGS.
EVEN WINDOWS XP WHICH WON'T BE BUG FREE UNTILL SEPTEMBER 2002.
