I just got a MC-303 off my friend and want to hook it up to my computer via the MIDI connections. I also bought the MIDI cables and bought Cakewalk PRO 5.0 off another friend. I have a PII-300/128 Megs of Ram. Should be sufficient horsepower. I downloaded a MC-303 .ins file for Cakewalk. I would like to transfer patterns and songs that I have created in Cakewalk to the Groovebox and vice versa. I have it all connected and I don't have any idea of how to transfer via MIDI in Cakewalk (as far as I know, it's not communicating). I have a Sound Blaster AWE32 and the MIDI Devices in Cakewalk are SB MIDI IN and OUT. I defined the instruments to be Roland MC-303 + mu-80 under Assign Instruments -> Define Instruments. WHAT THE F*@# AM I DOIN' WRONG. Thanks.

Help w/Session8 for Mac

anyone know anything about Session8 for Mac? I've got an older model with version 1.0 software... i'm thinking about selling the interface but i have some compatibility questions....

i've talked with digidesign tech support and they've given me some decent info, but i need more...

Drum Sounds / Bass Grooves

What program has the best and/or most drum sounds? I'm a drummer so i am looking for the best drum sounds available.

Also, are there any programs out there that can create bass lines on the fly. I'm not a bass player so i'm looking for something to make bass lines for me.

Reducing noise in WAV files

Ear Traning Program Search

Does anyone know of an ear training program that will drill you on chord progressions? One that wil do more than diatonic progressions. Hopefully somewhere there is one. Your help will be appreciated.

This happens to the mixer, effects and other controlers. Some times it moves these items to the very bottom of the window and often to the far right bottom. Good luck. Peter.

Thanx Peter. Yeah, it was at the bottom. Thee way I found it was by resising the screen resolution (from 800x600 to ????x????? for a few seconds) - and there it was - lurking squeemishly!!!!

There are some directx vocoder pluginz, but you will have to pay for 'em..

VST mixermap for Yamaha SW60 wanted!

RealAudio to WAV conversion

I tried Ra2Wav and it is not working on the files I have. It works on some other (older) .ra files, but the ones I'm trying to convert now, it says "This file is in RA Preview format and will not convert". Then it says something about G2 and I think his software does not support files created with G2.

Does anyone else have a RA to WAV converter? If not, do you know a work-around for G2 files?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

cakewalk pro 8

I have a problem with audio recording at 44.1-16 bit. I have an awe 64 soundblaster card. Whan I reord a wav in my sound card it sounds great but when I use cakewalk I am getting noise in the track like hiss! When I try to do another track in cakewalk with full duplex on my sound card, and go to audio options in cakewalk and set record and playback the playback track sounds terrible.I have mmx 233..64ram and 5gig H.D.what should I do to get a good recording. I am using my mackie 1604 preamp and a beta 87 and making sure the levels are correct but still having problems please help! thank you!

Check your Awe64 mixer settings.
Check the record levels and mute the cdrom
verify that you have the right port in cake8
this is usually awe640
Arm the track. All audio must have the "R" lit up
do not give the track a channel number.

something like this happened to me once- it turned out to be a dumb mistake of plugging a guitar into the mic input instead of the line input. the levels were set totally wrong. i don't know about your problem. ask cakewalk or try adjusting the levels in the control panels of windows.
