Anyone know how to write Mp3 files onto a Cd. I have a cd writer, but the software I have only writes wavs onto it in Audio mode. Any info would be much appreciated.

first you have to get a program that will decode mp3's to wav's.

I use a proggie called Sound Limit 2.0(it can also encode wav's into mp3's)(i am not sure this is the best program and i am looking for a better, faster one)

You have to decode the mp3 to wav.
Then you can record the wav on cd and listen to it on any cd player.(I am sure you should know how to do this)

You cannot record an mp3 on a cd and expect it to work since audio cd players play .wav only.
(.wav is cdda for recording purposes)

Remember: The new wav file created will only sound as good as the mp3 it was made from.
And you can only use mp3's that are in the 44kHz format..... all others will end up as static noise.(I put a 22kHz mp3 on a cd as a wav and it destroys speakers!!!)

I believe that Steinberg's Recycle works by sampling WAV files and converting them to midi. Check out their web site. One problem though is that Seinberg charge an arm and a leg for all their gear....

You could try Wave Surgeon, it does almost the exact thing as Recycle but at half the price. Lateset version is 2.2 from Square Circles. Merry x-mas

MC-303/VST problems

MC-303 drums don't sound when use a drum track (I've Pinnacle b.t.w.)
or go all funny and unstable when I use a Midi track. Drum maps are rendered useless also.
Generally, MC-303 used as MIDI on my computer is messed up for some unknown reason.

Also, the 303 Midi'd sounds "hang" now and again (esp. drums) while Pinnacle's GM set never does.

Anybody got the same problem/can advise??

Cubase VST plugins

I'm new to Cubase 4.0 VST and was wandering if any one new of a list of the major plugins for Cubase.
I'm aware of peak and Ionizer. Does anyone know a good source for this info?

I have a recording problem

Sometimes a message appears on my computer when he is recording. The message says something about buffering. The CD burning stops and my cd is unuseable. What's the problem. I have an Pentium PC with a TEAC recorder and GEAR software.
If anyone could help me out or teach me something about buffering it would be great.

Hi Jeremy,

The problem is that your cd-rom player doesn't support digital audio-files.
You must make an diskimage of your original cd with your burner and then burn the diskimage on the new cd.
Then is sound the same as the original.

I have a MaxiSound "Home Studio 64 Pro" sound card, which I think is one of the best value cards on the market that includes digital i/o, etc. But the patch management software that comes with the card is awful. ( Well, I have had no luck at all in using any of it to successfully create MIDI-usable patches in my 20Mb of soundcard memory!)
Does anyone know of a good 3rd party patch manager or converter, or have any tips for doing this with the MaxiSound? If anyone can help, I'd be very appreciative, as I don't have all that much hair left! (If you know what I mean. Well, if you own a Maxi card, you WILL know what I mean!!!) Thanks awfully, Winkle.
