Software Description

Awave Studio is a multi-purpose audio tool that reads 300 audio file formats from different platforms, synthesizers, trackers, mobile phones, ... - It can be used in a variety of ways - as a file format converter, as an audio editor, or as a synth instrument editor. Features include conversion, creation, editing, and emulation of synthesizer instruments, MIDI SDS and SCSI SMDI transfers, reading of non-Windows compatible AKAI, Kurzweil and Roland CD-ROM's and floppy disks, conversion of mobile phone ring signals, CD-ripping, simple MIDI editing, song playback, batch conversion, and sound recording. Supported file formats include synthesizers from Roland, Yamaha, AKAI, EMU, Korg, SampleCell, various trackers, mobile phones, et c, et c. It is truly a must-have, multi-purpose audio tool for musicians, audio engineers, and just about anyone that's into computer audio!

Sorry folks!
The right name for the program is CAMTASIA (Not camtasa)
There is no such program to my knowledge. Try Techsmith's program Camtasia - Screecapture program developed for film clips. Set up can some time be tricky, especially to set up the audio; The Audio controls in Windows can sometimes be confusing. Camtasia captures in Avi. Their Techsmith capture codec is supposed to be lossless. Capture Audio uncompressed. Edit and recompress in virtual dub (Make sure that you have some good codec pack, like k-lite codec pack, so you got stuff (codec) to compress it with (mp3 & Xvid are good choices). If you got a slow machine it's hard to capture big video screens higher than 20 frames per second - Especially if you got a slow machine. You can increase speed slightly by by putting the written capture file on another hard drive than C (If that's possible)

I too am on this hunt for the holy grail, I got a player, but I want something a little more flexible so I can work with them.

I'm trying to develop a software program that will play audio files - mp3, wav, etc on a vitual piano. The program will read thse files and play them back on an onscreen piano. Does anyone know of any programmnig language or software development kit that will allow me to do this?

There used to be two RealAudio formats:
- RA for RealAudio 'complete files'.
- RMA simply containing a link to a RealAudio server that then delivers/streams the data (so the RMA file doesn't actually contain any audio).

For some reason both types seems to be called .RMA today. Both Awave Studio and Awave Audio can convert from MPG to RA (you need some free add-on files for the RA suppor thtough). It should then be possible to simply rename the files from .RA to .RMA if you want.

Try switch audio converter. There is a free trial software, which can be bought after the trial period. it is very good.

According to the Olympus site,
It is not possible to convert Wave into DSS; when you convert into wave it is always saved as a copy. Please, do not delete the original DSS file if you still want to use it.

Several different software packages will convert WAV to AIFF. The Olympus DSS software can also open AIFF files. We ran in to this problem where our OLYMPUS FOOTPEDAL is connected to our DSS Player and we needed to get files into this player in order to use the pedal. Hope this helps....

Hello,

I am into medical transcription.The software I am currently using is Olympus Dss player to listen to the audio files which happen to be in .Wav format. However, some of the audio files are very difficult to follow as the speech is fast. There is an option to slow down the speech in the player, but it does not support .Wav format. I therefore require a .Wav to .Dss converter to be able to follow the audio files.The option to slow down is only for .Dss format.

I would be grateful if you could help me.
