I'm using VST 3.55 on 166mhz PENTIUM. 64M RAM. I have few problems. Have a bit of outboard gear (Compressers, Reverb etc, Mackie 1202, HiFi amp & speakers. Make good recordings without buying more & more software. CONCENTRATE ON THE MUSIC!!

How do I convert the .wav format to the broadcastwav format in order to edit a song???
Simple Recording Help!!!
I have followed the manual, record button on on track, record light blinking on transport, and I can't push the play button to start the recording process. It has to be a simple thing that I am overlooking please help.

You can't push the play button to start the recording process. Try pushing the record button to start the recording process. You mentioned that you made sure the blinking light that tells the user that the recorder is not recording, however you did not mentioned that you changed inputs or not. Make sure the inputs are set Mic/Input on the track or tracks you are recording on. When you are readying to hear your recording that you just recorded, move the input switch or slider whatever you want to call it up to Tape.

I am completley new to pro tools. I am using version 5.0.1 on a PC and would like to know if there is a movie menu with the option to import audio from another movie as there is on the MAC.
So that I can import and convert tracks from an audio cd

Perkele...what's wrong with Pro Tools?
(First, sorry for my broken english - not a native speaker...)
I just downloaded ProoTools Free early this week (it looked very
attractive compared with some other freewares having more limitations).
However, after a couple of evenings I have spent with this program it
seems to be just another pain in the neck.
First, the program got my computer (600 MHz Celeron, 128 RAM) totally
jammed every time I tried to open it- and it is still doing it 50% of the time.
Secondly, when I tried to record some audio voice, the latency was
TERRIBLE! Yes, I have tried to decrease the buffer size, but the program
doesn't accept less than near the maximum values. I have also minimizied
the graphics boost, killed the extra tasks, etc. Nothing seems to be
working.
Based on the earilier messages, it seems that I'm not the only person
with this kind of experience. If I have forgotten to adjust some
"settings", please, let me know. If that's not the point, please
let me know as well... (I have also tested some other programs, which all worked out fine. For
instance, with nTrack I made the first real recordings faster than I
read a half of the manual of ProTools.)

Pro Tools Free is killing my machine!
The free version here does not work even though I have 192 MB of RAM and a 12.7 GB hard drive...It locks my machine up every time..sometimes not even letting me load it in the first place...too many bugs and false hopes.

: you have to arm 2 mono trackz and record the left and right simultaneously. This suckz it essentially means you have 4 tracks available if you record in stereo.I'm not sure if you can bounce the trackz or not.

Pro Tools is freeware allright!
Well I guess I can see why Pro Tools is freeware. It fucks up your computer. You know I downloaded Cakewalk Guitar Studio 2. and my computer went to a blank screen. After I installed it. I thought my computer had crashed, so I tried manually restarting my computer and it worked. I am glad I haven't installed Pro Tools.

Tested it in the studio...bad results!
Yes, it crashes our PC in the studio. I'm running Windows 98 on a 500 MHz with 256 megs of RAM.

Pro tools documentation - Help!
What application opens the damn help docs. I have MS word 2000, but it asks for a disk. WTF? I changed my .pdf file types in folder options and all I got was about 37 error messages, my ram gagged and the system crashed.

BUT I HAVE PROBLEMS RUNNING IT RIGHT
SINCE I HAVE INSTALED IT ALTHOUGH I HAVE 250 MB OF MEMORY WITH PENTIUM 3
(WINDOWS 98)first day after installation it worked but very slugishly and it would take a few seconds for any operations to achive
swcond day it worker ok!no problems
now i can not open the programm at all i will appreciate your advise i am stuck

Well, with Celeron 433, 128Mb Ram and a SB Live- it doesn't want to work and soon freezes anyway. I've tried everything I know, and I'm not too stupid in things DAW. Anybody got any clues? Or had similar hassles?

u got it all right?it still dosent work...
dont try to work hard...they gave us somthing that is dosent work in any way..try some other software(unless u got the cach 4 the real thing..)

when i installed pro Tools Free i got the same message 128 Megs Minimum
(i only have 64 Megs)ram is very expensive in France today...
i tried to run Pro Tools anyway
and it works!yahooooooo!"great!!!"
the only problem i got is the allocation space on my HD.(my system crashed when recording)
but i resolved it in the preferences menu.
i even recorded Midi tracks
and used many effects...
only with 64 megs
note: i own a pentium II 300Mhz

I have cakewalk in my computer but don't knowledge of how to work everything..P.S.I am 60 and have played forever,but sense the joy of being able to write a short symphony..it's in my head,just don't know how to compile all the parts..thanks
