Software Description
Power Tab Editor is a tablature authoring tool for Windows.
Use it to make guitar and bass tab (tablature).
It lets you create tabs with most of the symbols usually found in tablature including chord names, chord diagrams, rhythm slashes, bends, slides, hammer-ons/pull-offs, harmonics and even palm muting.
It's a great application for people who want to learn how to play guitar, and indeed seasoned pros who need to transcribe their own music and/or guitar lessons.
If you are looking to convert Power Tab to Guitar Pro there is no longer any need because Guitar Pro now imports Power Tab.
Although PowerTab is not officially designed to run on Windows Vista, there are a lot of people who use it with no problem, however some people have reported that it won't run on Vista for them.
I don´t know where can i download it
I hope someone could tell me where else to dowmload this program, because every time i try, it doesnt work, i use DAP (download accelerator), thanx

Who's got it?
I find the tabs of the ballad by testament. Please i need the rythm tabs and the solo tabs. Thanx
If you just have the rythm tabs it's ok!

hai,
i was useing the internet and after wihile i started to get error like MSHTML.DLL,OLE32.DLL,KERNEL.DLL and also started to hang some time.
my computer began to be slow which troble be to download the program.also my entertaiment software also started to get slow.like xing
please help me i realy need this programme to slove this problem.even i had download the new version of internet explore 5.5.thank u
MIDI PROBLEM
I think that this is a very good program.
But I have problems when I am playing the MIDI files,
it starts playing good but some minutes later the program stops and I have to restart the computer because all the functions are unavailable.

I have been using the Power Tab Editor for the past few months, and am extremely impressed by the capabilities of this free software. Brad Larson is an innovator who has obviously taken much of his well thought time to offer one of the best notation systems specifically for Guitarists. In addition to its abilities, i would like to also mention that it has been very beneficial as a learning tool as well. Currently i am utilizing the program for a site on one of the best guitar wizards of today "John Petrucci." Finally, i could not say enough "good" about this program. Thank You Brad Larson!!!!!!

All you have to do is to put the notation and highlight 3 notes
then click the triplets buttom.

: Have you installed the program? If not, try doubliclicking the setup or install icon. If you have installed the program, it is probably installed into the "program files" directory. Check it out, and see if there's an *.*exe file there.

What if my screen doesn't have 800 by 600 resolution, I need hel
Can some on help me here because Power tab requires 800 by 600 resolution and my monitor does not go up to the that.If you can't help me, can some tell me of another FREEWARE
music notation/tablature software. I would like one with both music notation and tablature.

****Hit your start button,point to settings,click controle pannel,double click display,click settings tab,clickmouse and hold as you slide setting controle to your desired range,and you can re-adjust your color on same tab when you need to. *Tim*
Powertab - Symbols instead of NOTES!
No one seems to know the answer to this problem! Powertab only displays symbols and not musical notes for me! What is the deal here and how do I fix it... and where is Brad Larson's page?!

When you install PowerTab - it installs a new font which contains the musical notes. If you run the program straight away, the font will not have registered with your system. You should reboot your machine. In my experience, PowerTab has shown proper notes (instead of C's V's M's etc) after rebooting following an installation.
This is a fantastic program - I can't believe there seem to be so few sites supporting the PowerTab format. If I get time - I might put some of my own efforts up.
Hey - I got another bug though... at some stage, the buttons for the MIDI player disappeared, so I have to go through the text menus or remember to push the F5 key top play hear my scores. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the program, but the MIDI player control buttons don't reappear - anyone know a fix? Where is the author for this fantastic program?

I know it if u are using powertab v 1.4 ,,
If u use 1.7 i don't..
In 1.4 you just have to install 1.7 instead..

when i installed powertab on win98 the 'symbols instead of notes' problem fixed itself upon reboot.
however now i am installing it on win2000, in otherwords winNT, and the problem doesnt fix itself upon reboot.

symbols instead of notations
I am getting symbols instead of notation in the staff. The Help refers to an obsolete FAQ, so I am not sure where to go. It is happening on all my systems. I am assuming that it is missing a font or something.
Any help?

You can uninstall by going to the control panels and double clicking "Add/Remove Programs". Then install the program like you did when you first downloaded it. Remember that nothing you've done was saved "in the program". Files you save in Power Tab are saved as power tab documents, and won't be removed when you uninstall the application. After you reinstall it, you should be able to open all of your power tab documents with no problem. DEFINITELY, UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES, DO NOT FORMAT YOUR HARD DRIVE. That's just plain wrong.

: You know, the same thing happened to me some time ago. And there's nothing you can do about it. The problem is that you have tried to open a chord file or something, and if you want your Powertab to work again, you'll have to format your harddisk/harddrive. Please remember to to make back-up-copies of your importnant stuff.
