OS 10.5 MIDI problems with Lime
Hi,
I just downloaded Lime 9 for Mac onto my iMac which
runs on OS 10.5.
I use a Yamaha P-90 which is connected to my Mac using
a midiman MIDI interface.
When I go to the Mac Audio MIDI Setup and have it scan
for MIDI devices, nothing shows up.
What should I try next?
Regards,
-Kevin

Crossgrade Lime from Mac to PC ??
I have a registered version of Lime on a Mac but I have moved all my music stuff to a PC and don't use the Mac anymore. Does anyone know if I can move my license to the PC? Or do I need to purchase a new license?

noteheads & accidentals printing one space too high
when i print the music, all the noteheads, rests, & accidentals appear one space (one major step) up.
for stems up parts, you can see a little of the bottom part of stem sticking out;
and for stems down parts, the noteheads and stems don't even connect
half rests look like full rests and vice-versa
i have tried printing TT fonts as bitmap soft fonts and as graphics
for now, i transposed from Gb major to Bbmajor and hand-wrote in the extra accidentals and key signature
so although the file is in Bb, it printed out looking like Gb
what's the actual solution?
thanks!

Lime Fonts under Win2k
I have tried the 6.2 version, 7.0 version and the viewer put I can't get the program to find the fonts.
Are there any special instructions on setting up the fonts?
Re: Lime Fonts under Win2k
I’m a dork music lover, and I’d really like to know which version of the viewer to use for my Treble Clef saxophone notation. You seem to be even more dorkier so I figured you’d be the best to ask. Please help, my metronome is losing power and my beat is slipping.

We encounter this problem only occasionally. Most users have no problem with the fonts in the same folder as Lime.
Try reinstalling the printer drivers, and copying the fonts to the fonts folder in Windows. Watch for a new pre-release version which will copy the fonts to the fonts folder automatically.

Try this one on for size. All of the machines that I tried to use the program on were attached to print servers. If my default printer was one that was attached to one of the print servers, no luck. Once I set my default printer to a non-print server printer, it works fine.
Hope this helps you or anyone else who runs into a similar issue.
smell
everyime i use this program i get a funny smell in my nose and wet my pants. otherwise
i have no problems with it. by the way i haven't used it yet.
Lime / difficulty
I have imported a NIFF file into LIME but could not find a way to add a note to a chord, of which there were many lost in the import process. I held down the Shift key, per instruction manual, but this did not work. Need ease of adding and correcting notes.
Re: Lime / difficulty
Hit the "add" icon in the piano window first.
Exporting image to publishing software
I need to get Lime notation into a Corel Ventura document. I've successfully cut and pasted into MS Word, but it seems this method doesn't work for other programs.
I've tried:
1) Copy highlighted rectangle in Lime, paste into PaintShop Pro - it asks for the iamge size in pixels (the data from the file gives "unknown") but whatever I use I get deformed music, with notes and clefs that are too small.
2) Copy to Word (looks OK) and then into PaintShop Pro. Now it seems to know the original size, but it is too small and only some of the image gets through.
3) Copy to Ventura. Gives similar result to 2, that is only one stave and half the treble clef get drawn.
4) Print to a Postscript printer file. This works really well occasionally, but most of the time I end up with a file containing the message that the printer driver doesn't have enough memory for the print job. I've tried shutting down everything else on my computer, and rebooting, etc. etc. but my 128M of memory doesn't seem to be enough...
Does anyone have any ideas how else I might get a selected rectangle, or the whole page, from Lime into a Postscript file? My aim is for either EPS or a bitmap of at least 300dpi, i.e. better resolution than screen-capturing Lime in it's enlarged size.
Anthony
Re: Exporting image to publishing software
You might try the most recent version. That, in combination with recent versions of the Windows interface has improved the copy rectangle feature.
LIME nativity *does* = 1975
I just wanted to say that Shareware Music Machine need not doubt the 1975 date on LIME's birth. I was using it at Florida State U. in 1978 - and it was stable and useful at that point (running under "PLATO" : go look up your computer history, under 'C.E.R.L.,U.I.U.C.', and 'C.D.C.') -
It is still quite simple and useful: I paid, & run it on Win-doze and Mac. Will there be an OSX-'cocoa' port?
