Focusrite is bringing their years of pro-audio recording experience into the iPad with this latest audio interface hardware. iTrack Solo comes with a dedicated input for microphones that include the company's preamp technology, and another input which you can use for instruments like guitar or bass.

The Focusrite microphone preamp is designed to provide low-distortion and low-noise recording, the same preamp that they use in their flagship hardware - the Liquid Saffire 56 interface. This unit also provides phantom power which makes it compatible with professional studio microphones.

According to the press release, "iTrack Solo is the perfect companion for any singer/songwriter wanting to take their demos to the next level – with audio quality that's so good, they can be used in the final mix."

It follows the same features of the Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 USB interface that we previously featured, and it sports the same unibody aluminum casing that looks pleasant to the eyes. It has the signature Halo indicators around the input knobs that provide a cool looking visual for letting you know if you are coming into the interface good or too hot. There is also a large monitor knob that controls the output level. The hardware can also let you switch monitoring without incurring latency.

This iPad audio interface is compatible with all the popular recording iOS apps and works just as well with your PC or Mac computer with up to 24-bit/96kHz digital performance. iTrack Solo comes with a supplied iPad connection cable and is powered by the device for better convenience and less cable clutter. Output options also include headphone monitoring and a pair of phono connectors on the rear panel.

The Focusrite iTrack Solo is currently retailing for $159.99, and comes with a code to unlock Ableton Live Lite 8 and Focusrite's Scarlett plug-in suite. For more information on this new audio interface, you may visit Focusrite or AudioAdapter.net.
