SMF to MIDI conversion

My Korg KB's built in disk drive and sequencer reads only SMF (Standard MIDI Files). My cakewalk can save only in *.MID files (format 1 or 0). Does any body out there know the relation between the two file formats? How does one convert MID files to SMF format for reading on the KB?

My casio ctk has a built in disk drive that only reads smf0 files can you send me some softwear that will convert any midi file into a smf0 midi file?

i use my keyboard to listen mifi files....
if you want a software to convert standard midi files format 0 or 1...tell me and i will send to you by email....i have one for DOS and one for Windows...
the difference between SMF 0 and 1...is that in SMF0 the information is all on the same track and SMF1...they are on different ones....

I would also like to get that software from you for converting the files... I have a Casio WK1800 that also only reads SMF0 files.... truly aggravating... Help!

hi daine I hear that you have a converter which changes smf1 too smf0 files and it is for windows can you send me one for windows that changes a smf1 file to a smf0 file please.

It has the download needed to convert the files... I've used it already and it is very simple. It also lets you convert to SMF0 SMF1 AND SMF2

Tengo u teclado WK-1800 Casio, el cual me lee solo el formato SMF y intente por toda las formas con programas e incluso cambiando la extension del midi pero no consegui nada, espero respuesta para obtener algun programa por dos o bajo windows, para cambiar el formato.

there should be no difference except that your keyboard may only be capable
of reading/writing files of type 0 - some keyboards are limited to that.
For type 1 and 2 you first have to to do a conversion.
In every case, I'd just try to rename the files. If it doesn't work,
try to open a Korg-created SMF in cakewalk and compare the two.
