Help for connecting SPD20 to computer

I need to know how we can connect SPD20 to computer and also use it with Fruity Loops and other software like Rebirth. I am totally new to PC and have experience only in Drumming plz help

Hi Jack,
You need to connect the 'midi out' and 'midi in' port on the back of your spd-20 to your computers sound card. How you do this depends on your sound card. You will have to find out from your sound card manufacturer how to do this.
However if it is a sound blaster (or similar - these are the most common on home PCs) there will probably be a port on the back of the computer to plug a joystick into - this also doubles as a midi port. You will need a lead that with one end being a 'game port' type connector and the other being 2 standard midi plugs.
When you are in the software you want to use - select your sound card's midi INPUT port as the thing you want to record from and select it's OUTPUT port as the thing it plays back from.
Its not that easy when you've never done it before but with a little playing around you should be able to get it working - good luck.
