Waveout format
Posted by Rebecca Schilz on Mon, 01/19/04 - 17:53:27.
I recently had a computer crash and once I restored my files/programs I cannot play any of my audio files. Either within MusicMatch or Winamp, the message "Waveout format not supported" pops up and nothing. If anyone could help me with this I would greatly appreciate it!
Thanks~
Rebecca

Re: Waveout format
Rebecca,
I may have a solution for you. It worked for me. Here how it can be done:
It's possible that the mixer for your sound card is not set up properly. Please do the following:
- Double-click "My Computer".
- Double-click "Control Panel".
- Double-click "Multimedia".
- Click the "Devices" tab.
- Expand "Mixer Devices".
- Select the sound card's mixer (if one isn't installed you will likely need to re-install the drivers and/or software for your sound card).
- Go to "Properties".
- Make sure "Use Mixer features on this device" is selected then click the "OK" button.
If you continue to have trouble however, you may need to download and install updated drivers for your sound card and reboot. If updated drivers are not available you can try re-installing the current ones and rebooting.
I had to reinstall mine! But I am back in action!

Re: Waveout format
I have the same problem as Rebecca did. Whenever I attempt to play someone on Musicmatch the "Waveout format not supported" pops up comes up. If someone would please tell me what to do I would be most grateful for your response. Thank you!
