MusicMatch Jukebox-MMJB - Pasted CD Image Files Location?
Re: MMJB 8 Deluxe
MusicMatch Jukebox (MMJB) CD Art: When tagging & pasting from the clipboard, where are those image files stored/kept?
I'm one of those people who's very particular about my mp3 file track tags. After ripping audio files from my CD's onto my PC, I'll use MusicMatch Jukebox tagging options to assign preference/genre/mood/release year and other file info.
On the initial rip, MMJB will use CDDB to provide certain info, including CD art from AMG (I assume).
In the instances where the CD art is not downloaded, I'll go back and during the tagging process, paste the CD art (from the net or my scanner). My question is:
Where are those pasted image files kept/stored on my PC? I honestly can't find them anywhere (via file search, explorer, etc.).
The art images that are provided through CDDB are stored in a Program Files>MUSICMATCH sub-folder but the ones I paste from my clipboard aren't.
My 1st assumption was these "pasted image" files weren't .jpg files, and were either temp or hidden files...but I'm not sure about that. Wouldn't that mean Windows Cleaning utility end up blowing those files away.
My 2nd assumption was what's really being pasted is a link, not an image file. But that can't be because I tested that theory by copying an image off a personal web image folder, deleting the file after pasting it and the CD art image still is displayed.
I'm curious as to what and where these files are. Does anyone have any idea?
Thanks

I've been searching for this and little did I realize that the album art is actually kept in the mp3 itself. It's kept in the ID3 v2 tag of the mp3 file.
Cheers!

Wes:
The mystery has been solved. Thanks. That explains alot. Since I posted that question about CD art, I just wanted to alert you to a new problem that's cropped up.
I doubt it'll be an issue to most people, but just a heads up.
Re: Large Music library and CD art.
On my XP Pro PC w/512 MB RAM, album art in my MMJB Music Library doesn't display for albums that are alphabetically toward the end of the list. This problem is (most likely) caused by my library's size.
I rip on average 4-5 tracks from each CD and currently, my MMJB Music library contains:
815 Albums (beginning with the letters A->Th) where CD art is shown
and
410 Albums (beginning with the letters Th-Z) where CD art is not displayed.
In other words, when you get to the point where your library has over 800+ CDs in it, CD Art will not display in the Library Or In the player window for those albums at the end of the list.
All the mps files were tagged correctly and I'm all but certain it's a memory issue even though 512MB should be enough. The reason I'm all but convinced it's a RAM issue is because when I remove albums (from the Library - I'm NOT talking about deleting the mp3 files) that start with the letters A/B and C the CD art displays correcly for the files that have albums towards the end of the alphabet that previously weren't available.
Re: MusicMatch Jukebox-MMJB - Pasted CD Image Files Location?
Hi JohnBuck,
I'm having the exact same issue and can't figure it out. I believe that the images must be stored in one of the folders where Musicmatch is installed. This is because I copied my Musicmatch folder to my friends new machine in hopes that he would inherit all my CD art, I then installed Musicmatch over top so it would run, and saw that the pasted CD art still shows up when I play songs on his computer. This leads me to believe that the art must be in one of the Musicmatch folders.
One thing I noticed is that a temp copy of the pasted image gets put in the MUSICPATCH TEMP folder as a jpg when a song is played. I performed a substring search to see if the contents of the temp jpg file exist anywhere else in other Musicmatch folders - they don't!
So if I'm correct in assuming that the pasted art is kept in the musicmatch folder it must not be in jpg form.
I have no idea what I'm overlooking????
