trouble with Data Becker "Music Center Pro" MIDI port busy

I recently installed DATA BECKER "Music Center Pro" on my labtop with OS Windows 98SE. When I start the program I get the error message "MIDI port unavaliable" - port is busy or might be used by another application. I have used DirectX 9.0b to find out about my sound devices/programs and found that Microsoft Synt. is the only one that had "yes" for MIDI port. Can someone help me in getting my program to work or tell me how to maybe stop any application using the port or clearing it?
